Eldorado Posted April 13, 2021 #2277 Share Posted April 13, 2021 The target of offering a first COVID vaccine dose to the nine most vulnerable groups by 15 April has been reached, the government has said. Ministers had vowed to offer a COVID-19 jab to all over-50s, the clinically vulnerable and health and social care workers - about 32 million people - by Thursday. The target - for the whole of the UK - was reached three days early and means adults under 50 will start to be invited for their first jab "in the coming days", Number 10 said. Which is a total lie from the government, since there are still hundreds of thousands of vulnerable asthmatics who have yet to be offered a vaccine.

Eldorado Posted April 14, 2021 #2293 Share Posted April 14, 2021 The Department of Health is under pressure to stop charging travellers and holidaymakers “rip off” fees of more than £100 for PCR Covid tests. Eldorado Posted April 16, 2021 #2298 Share Posted April 16, 2021 (edited) Introducing Covid status certificates to help reopen society risks discriminating against some groups, the UK equality watchdog has warned. The Equality and Human Rights Commission says certificates to prove who is vaccinated could help to ease restrictions "in principle". But they could create a "two-tier society whereby only certain groups are able to fully enjoy their rights". Blanket mandatory vaccination policies are "likely to be unlawful", it added. BBC report A coronavirus variant with a “double mutation” has been detected in the UK after having first emerged in India. A total of 77 cases of the variant, known as B.1.617, have been recorded in the UK up to April 14, according to Public Health England (PHE). Of these cases, 73 were recorded in England and four in Scotland. Evening Standard report Edited April 16, 2021 by Eldorado
