F3SS Posted February 10, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2020 Vent, brag, tips? I've recently started playing again. Haven't played since the feds shut it down almost 10 years ago but it's back now. Doing pretty well. One $20 deposit 2 weeks ago and I'm up over $200. Started playing 5¢/10¢ no limit hold 'em for about 5 days but the action was too slow. Took way to long to win a decent pot so I jumped into 25¢/50¢. Will probably move up a notch if I get to $300. Back then in the old days, I couldn't win or keep winnings ever. Deposit after deposit but I guess I've matured. Anyhow it's been a lot of fun and if love to hear some big win or big beat stories.
Habitat Posted February 10, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2020 Still legal, is it ? Outlawed in Australia, to bet with these websites. People have made big money, but they are, of course, a tiny minority. I know one fella who claims to have made well into six figures, in a couple of years, but does not do it any more. Online poker has been taking the world by storm for the last few years, proposing tremendously opportunistic availabilities for skilled players to make a substantial amount of money. At the same time, it has shaped an entire industry which generates hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue every single year in Australia alone. Online poker was particularly popular but, in August 2017 this changed when online poker became illegal in Australia. This happened as a consequence of the enforcement of the Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill.
Overdueleaf Posted February 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2020 I used to play, never won big, never lost my ****. But then, I began to wonder just how legit online poker was... I mean probably not so difficult to create a platform full of AI players designed and rigged to win far more than it loses and lining the designers pockets with money money money. So, I stopped online playing and began hosting a monthly poker night for awhile (until everyone moved).

I believe the sites were self regulated plus some shady rake action going on. Skimming. Anyhow, far as I know it's only been re-legalized very recently and can only play intrastate only instead of the whole country or the world like it used to be and it's now state regulated and played through an actual casino however that works. 16 hours ago, Overdueleaf said: I used to play, never won big, never lost my ****. I think it's mostly on the up and up although when it comes to gambling cheaters never stop trying. That it's state regulated now makes me feel better plus you begin to see the same people everyday. I do love live poker too but friends grow apart and can't get a game together. I never played much in casinos but once in a while I would but I left and never looked back years back after taking a bad beat (my worst ever) by a fish. I lost over $200 that hand and pretty much quit gambling after that.

F3SS Posted January 27, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted January 27, 2023 Haha thanks for bumping this old post. I forgot all about it. I must've had a good day when I made this thread. It's funny because I never changed or matured cause that didn't last long and I don't think I've played since. Where do you play? Pokerstars? I think that's the best one in PA. I like the Spin N Go's

I definitely never matured lol. I only have patience for do long until I don't. Then I go for it all and get eaten by sharks.
