So, a crime is no longer a crime or morally wrong as long as you become president before you're found out? That's what it seems like you're saying here....and it definitely makes sense for this crowd.

That’s not what he’s saying.  Our system has prohibitions on Bills of Attainder and ex post facto laws.  For those that do not love freedom, this means that our Constitution guarantees protections from these and provides Due Process and an underlying concept of “Innocent Until Proven Guilty”

Ex post facto and quid pro quo. Quod est demonstrandum.

Several years ago I put in a proposal to develop a piece of land as a natural area/park that Donald Trump had tried to develop as a golf course.  It was a little over a hundred acres.  In his attempts at development, Trump had run afoul of local building/development codes and had generally made himself a nuisance to the local folks with threats and attempts at intimidation.  Once he figured out he wasn't going to be able to put a golf course in, he "donated" the land to the New York State Parks Department.  One of the conditions was that his name had to be on it:  Donald J. Trump State Park.  It's even on the Interstate signs.  The State of New York did not have the money to develop the site as a park, so there it sits.  The gate is chained and padlocked and locals have started dumping trash in front of it.  Then somebody replaced the sign with a new one:  Donald J. Trump Dump.

Here's NY AG Letitia James demonstrating her sense of justice, fairness, and impartiality:

She should be locked up.

Is this a surprise?

It is not illegal to use the law against an enemy.  Donald Trump does it all the time.  These people are merely applying his methods to him.

So play me a long, sad tune.

No need.  Straggling remnants of the Obama years, like Letitia James, are fast disappearing.

That dog's day is near done.

I guess that all depends on what remnants of the Obama years you think are disappearing.  Court challenges to Trump continue as part of the resistance and will as long as he is on office.  After that, he will be the responsibility of the criminal courts and perhaps lawsuits by the Federal govt to recover what he stole.  Trump is going to be seeing a lot of the inside of court rooms.

Endless lawsuits are very expensive to conduct, and funding for them against Trump comes from a very specific source...one which looks to soon be cut off.

When they are gone, who will put up the money...you?

How do you figure the source of funds is going to disappear?  The ACLU solicits contributions online all the time.  I get a daily dose of their junk mail.  So do other organizations.

And the Association of Democratic Attornies General uses state money in furtherance of anti-Trump issues favored by their respective states.

But the lawsuits I am thinking of will be funded by the Federal govt.  They will probably be handled by OMB.  And they will probably only go after what they think is economically advantageous to the Federal govt.  They have already recovered something like $35 million and a suite of rooms in New York's Trump Tower.  They're being used by the FBI - ironic, no?  But there's an armload of other lawsuits waiting in the wings, so we'll see how this plays out.

No, it’s not a Democratic plot but it is Democratic SOP.

This issue was raised by the State of New York.

And?  The Sothern District is notorious fishermen.  Progs go to “Injunctions ‘’ Us” to stop Trump.  Usually Trump ends up winning most of those cases.  He’s gotten real good at doing it.

Trump could have put an end to it long ago by complying with lower court orders.

He’s under no obligation to personally answer to a lower court.  There are procedures to follow.

He is the one who continues to fight a losing battle.

As long as the fight continues, he’s winning.

But the question is:  What will he do when he loses at the Supreme Court?

The question is what will the Progs do when he wins?  Again, there is no precedence to force Trump to release his taxes.  Did Obama have to release his college records or even his birth certificate?

I am predicting that he'll defy the Court, creating a Constitutional crisis.

From the viewpoint of the Progs, he’s created a Constitutional crisis ever since he was elected and then at least one every week after that.  Trump is actually the answer to the real Constitutional crisis.

What do we do when he does that?  How do we reassert the rule of law?

You’re one Administration behind showing concern about Presidential overreach.  Trump is the one to return the rule of law!  The Swamp has had things their corrupt way for far too long.

Looks like you've finally gotten around to pondering the absurdity of insisting that someone show evidence to prove their innocence.

You are a bit late to the party...but perhaps there are a few soggy Cheetos left for you to munch on.

Good job!

Literally never asked that of anyone.

I know reality is hard for you but do at least try.

OH MY GAWD!  That is a lie.  You have and every person with TDS has done so.  No one proves innocence (in this country, it is innocent until proven guilty).  One is proven guilty or not guilty.  And innocence isn't always the same as not guilty.

I know reality is hard for you but do at least try.

OMG 2, reality is not even on your scope.

No.  I'm saying you pathetic bunch of whiney LOSERS, can't seem to find anything he has done IN OFFICE that would justify him being removed.  If he has committed crimes other than beating your sad -sack candidate, indict him once he finishes his term(s).  You've made your whole life's focus, destroying this guy.  And he keeps beating you like a drum.  That pleases me, immensely.

Apparently prosecutors have some evidence of wrong doing and are seeking to follow up on it.

That's quite the assumption, innit?  I mean, there has been "apparent" wrongdoing by Trump for years and after endless, expensive, EXHAUSTIVE investigations, nothing is found.  But hey, if we try long enough, there's SURELY something, right?  You people don't even realize how pathetic you've become.

Prosecutors are required to have evidence of wrong-doing before they can request a person's tax returns.  They have requested Trump's.  1 + 1 = 2.

That's the State of New York investigating Trump's financial crimes.

Do you realize how ignorant you are?

The NY prosecutors are using as "evidence" Michael Cohen's remarks that Trump "sometimes understates his net worth...and sometimes he overstates it".  That's it.

Hopefully YOU realize how flimsy that is.

And how ignorant you sound...

Overstating your worth when filling out paperwork for a bank loan is bank fraud.....  When a man's personal attorney is the one saying it, you by all rights should look and check.

Kinda like when someone says, "There was a murder!"  and the cops check to see if there is a body.

If Trump has estimated his net worth too high on a loan application, that's evidence of fraud.  We'll know by the end of March what the Supreme Court says it is.  Any bets?
