Girls file Lawsuit against transgenders

Myles

While reading the last couple pages, I got to wondering... Couldnt an athlete compete in men's AND women's sports? I mean, the question of asking them to pick a gender is not PC, as shown by TGs competing as women, so demanding they make a Binary choice, in that PC environment, would be wrong.

So Usain Bolt could win all the Mens gold medals, AND all the Women's gold medals.

I don't care if people want to mutilate themselves to live out a mental abberation wherein they think they are of the opposite sex.

What REALLY winds me up is when WE - in the real world - have to kowtow to their fantasies.

A baby died last year when a "man" went to hospital to report stomach pains, and promptly gave birth. He mis-reported his gender as "male", on the basis of that being how he self-identified.

But reality doesn't work like that. And a baby died.

Then let them compete as women in purely mental contests, like the chess club or debate team.  No matter how much they try to alter themselves through surgery or hormones their years as a male have given them a bone structure and muscle mass that natural women will never have, making physical competition unfair.

Well said!  It is just as simple as that, no complexity need be added.  If, by their very chromosomal makeup, they are superior to the other competitors, they shouldn't be allowed to compete in and take opportunities away from their physical inferiors.  How this is considered a difficult call, I can't understand.

This is definitely an issue for the courts to decide.

How did we ever get to the point where we need a judge to decide what has been known since the dawn of time?  The solution seems obvious to everyone except the people whose confusion caused the problem in the first place.  The real issue, as I see it, is that in the current environment there are political ramifications to practicing common sense.  That leads to people having to endorse insanity in order to keep their positions.

There are a good-awful number of gender identities.  And there are six, maybe seven that have a genetic basis.  So how do you classify someone who is XXY?  Fortunately, we are not stuck with knowledge that was current 50,000 years ago.

A league of their own. Just like women had to do.

A lot of the literature on Klinefelter syndrome refers to it as a genetic condition that occurs in males.

We don't have to account for or classify all the possible gender identities.  In this discussion there are two categories for teams, men and women.  If you don't meet the criteria for the team then you're not on the team.  It's no different than the way we pick teams for a particular sport.  You don't make the ski team if you can't ski.  You don't make the track team if you can't run.  People are evaluated on various physical traits all the time in order to qualify to play a sport.  Those that don't qualify end up finding something else to do.  We don't change the rules for everyone whose desire to play a sport is not in line with their qualifications.

So what are some actual win-loss records of games involving both transgender and straight people?  There may not be a physical advantage to argue about.

This suit seeks to change those rules.

No it doesn't.  This suit is being brought by natural born females to exclude transgendered formally men from competing against them.  In other words, they're suing to keep the rules the same.

What would you recommend to ensure fairness?

The rules allowing transgender females are in effect right now.  They are trying to change that.

There appear to be about a dozen genetic variations.

What is fair?  One would have to go back to win-loss records in particular games.  If having a certain genetic configuration provides no advantage, then there is no reason to exclude that configuration from competing.  If there is a difference, then they would have to be included in whatever group they are closest to.  Inclusion/exclusion could differ from game to game.  Somebody could get a Ph.D. out of working this out.

Or it could be strictly height and weight class. That seems simple enough.

So who changed the rules in the first place?

Given the information from the WHO linked by Michelle which reveals that regardless of minor chromosome differences there are still just two genders the obvious answer is the way you mentally identify is irrelevant because sports are primarily physical contests, so those who’s chromosome indicates they are male must compete as men. Pathetic this needs to go to court.  Anyone with common sense can see this with ease and most of us have.

Do those rules apply in this case? At the high school level?

Do you think the two "girls" in question who are out competing these others, are being testosterone level tested? I extremely doubt it.

If you're taller, you'll be better at basketball. That's a biological advantage. Should we stop tall people from playing with short people?

Intelligence is at least partly inherited. Should we have a special college entrance exam for stupid people? Otherwise, those clever people are taking scholarships they could have won.

Trans women can NEVER become females physically. They can be mutilated to have an ersatz vagina and breasts, but they are NOT females in the biological sense. They can't menstruate, they can't become pregnant, they have different medical requirements. They are mutilated men with a mental disorder.

Maybe they should just have their own transgender Olympics?
