Bidding on the super-rare Nintendo PlayStation prototype has surpassed $360,000 (£276,000) within a week of it going up for auction.

The games console, which was viewed as a myth among the gaming community, is the result of a tie-up between two of the industry’s biggest players in the early nineties.

The project was never put into mass production and instead Sony would go on to release its own system in 1994. All of the prototypes were reportedly destroyed, except for one.

I predict it'll go up to at least 500k, possibly a million+. There are some very wealthy collectors who use heritage who once they decide they want it money is no issue.

I not buying it's the only one left. Yeah sure, they were all destroyed in some ceremonial bonfire.
