School lesson compares Trump to Nazis

How could it be anything but a joke considering that it's ridiculous to worry that trump will turn into hitler?  You know what enabled dictatorial governments in Europe in the middle of the last century?  It's because they had been conditioned by kings and popes to accept the rule of such for centuries.  That's why when after they tried democracy and things started looking down it was an easy transition for them to trust in a strong man style of leader.  We here in the USA have been bread for centuries to find such akin to anathema.  That will not happen here.  We would never accept it.

Democracy isn't elections and voting; it's ten thousand people standing up and shouting, "Hey!  You can't do that."  But the right is certainly not doing that, leaving only the left standing between Trump and dictatorship.  You most certainly ARE accepting it.

Shouldn't the teachers be arrested for this?

There is no place in a free society for political brain washing.

Why?  It isn't a free society without free speech.

It was most-likely a comparative analysis of Trump vs. Hitler.  "Do you think Trump would do this?  Why?" an effort to get students to think about politics.  If Trump is too much like Hitler, then the comparison is a good thing.  If not, it will come out in the discussion and that also is a good thing.

The wall was constructed in Germany to keep the West out. And how much of our southern border wall that is already built was built by Trump, and not previous administrations? Yes, brainwashing, pure and simple.

Free speech is not brain washing in the classroom.

Me?    I'm a libertarian thus moderate.  Trump is an a-hole and the other side are ridiculous.  That sums up my assessment. I don't defend trump I feel what I'm actually doing is refuting lunacy.  Lunacy such as trump is hitler.  Was Theodore Roosevelt hitler as well?  He was also an over the top whacko who said offensive things and didn't give a ****.

Neither was what the teacher did.  It was a simple study in comparative reasoning.  Whatever result you come up with must be supported by facts.  And if the facts are there, the outcome is a reflection of truth, and so, not brainwashing.

You should look up brainwashing and find out what it really is.

Doug

Hint:  it was used on US prisoners by North Korea during the Korean War.

Anyone can do that

Is Barrack Obama like Hitler? Expository Essay

Doesn't make it true.

Parts of the argument will be supported by facts.  That part is probably true.  But if there are no facts to back up what the author is saying, then it is propaganda.

An unsupported claim is just a wildass guess.

And you're right:  anyone can do it.  But most don't because researching what is/isn't fact can be a lot of work.  So most would rather spout claptrap.

Well since trump won’t have more than 8 years in office I guess we’ll dodge that bullet.

Well seeing as it was in before year 8 he removed any limit on his office, Trump has plenty of time to catch up.

Yeah, I remember the part where Hitler made sure everyone had access to healthcare.

That's what he's famous for, right?

Actually he did do that.  You know, unless you were an undesirable.  The working class had a spectacular benefits package all around.  Free healthy meals at work, generous vacations at union owned spas and on union owned cruise ships, housing.  He really ticked every socialist box is you care to look into it.

The acid test will be how gracefully Trump leaves office, whether after winning a second term, but especially after losing the fall election.

If one respects the laws and the Constitution, then that won't happen.  Thanks to Trump for showing us how to mock, disregard and ignore them.  So I guess maybe it can - if Bernie ever gets that chance.

I could find that for plenty of people.  Soldiers.  Authors.  Painters.  Community organizers. Megalomaniacs.  Germans.  Jews.  Austrians.  So what?

So far the most ungraceful former president has been Obama.  Other presidents keep their comments to themselves and let the new guy do his thing.  I'm sure Trump will be a complete blowhard though.

You said that no American President is like Hitler.  Now you're saying there are similarities.  Make up your mind.

When you see the current president f....ing up the system, you are duty bound as a citizen to speak up.

So far Trump has only killed a few dozen asylum seekers.  But is there really a difference in how many you murder.  You're still a murderer.

Not saying he will. Just you can't make the argument that Trump isn't like Hitler because he hasn't done everything Hitler did when he hasn't had time yet.

There are plenty of better arguments you could put forward. That one is inaccurate.

Read further, I put up more detailed reasons as to why I don’t believe this is a realistic thing to worry about.
