UM-Bot Posted February 25, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2020 For the first time ever, researchers have identified an animal that does not need to breathe oxygen to survive. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/334944/scientists-discover-animal-that-doesnt-breathe

aztek Posted February 25, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2020 it is a parasite, it gets nutrients and o2 from the host, and it prbly dumps co2, and other waste in the host as well,

Thanks aztek, so it does use oxygen...but gets it from it's host's blood , I assume. ? No lungs though huh? Evolved out of a need for lungs...weird. As Spock would say..."fascinating"

It have another mean elsewhere maybe. 1

It cannot use it, it seems. Edited February 26, 2020 by Jon the frog

I did however read that "It may have oxygen free breathing"..
