Woman goes blind after tattooing eyeballs

Even if the tattoo artist know what he's doing, it's still a very risky procedure.

Messing with your organs for no good reason other than look and appearance is extremely irresponsible.

You know, they make full eye contact lenses that create the blackout look (and lots of other looks). They're used in movies and by (smarter) weirdos all the time.
This is a Darwin Award (without the death) situation, IMO.
I'm still for punishing the tattoo artist, though. They shouldn't be allowed to tattoo people after a mess up like this.

They shouldn't be allowed to tattoo eyeballs. Period!

I'm usually not in favor of outlawing things just because people are stupid, but this really is an exception.

Why the **** was this even legal to begin with?

I've read in several places that it's an incredibly dangerous procedure, in part because neither you nor the "tattoo artist" can stop your eye from doing spontaneous or instinctual movements during the procedure, which puts you in danger of having part of your eye damaged.

I don't really understand what the appeal of this is anyway...It looks crap and it's dangerous.

I know a lot of tattoo artists. None approve of the eye thing. It technically isn't even tattooing.

"There is clear evidence that the tattoo artist did not know how to perform such a delicate procedure," said Sadowska's lawyer. "And yet he decided to perform it which led to this tragedy."

He decided to perform it because she asked him to. She should never had taken the risk in the first place.

Both are to blame for this stupidity.

There will always be someone out there to perform any dangerous requests if someone is willing to pay them.

I do not get why people get their eyes tattooed. The same for face/neck tattoo's.

I have one on the back of my neck and also a shoulder tattoo. :st

she seems to have been an attractive young woman.  So sad that young people don't learn to appreciate their value until they've become old folks like the rest of us ;)

Why on the back of your neck, you can not see it.

Is it for people behind you in a queue,  does it say "wait you turn"?

Good, I'm not alone. I have no tattoos, piercings, etc. None of it ever appealed to me. I'm a total square when it comes to that stuff...

2 years ago my mother had an eye surgery (lens change). The surgery was performed in an operating room, executed by a guy who studied ophthalmology for at least 6 years, participated to dozens of further trainings and having a professorship for ophthalmology at the university. Furthermore, an anaesthetist and a surgery nurse assisted. So, do we really have to assume there is difference between the scenario described above and the action performed by a fat guy with a swastika tattoo on his di**, wearing the gloves a 22nd time, in a dirty basement somewhere in Poland, with a farting Rottweiler in the same room, with Heavy Metal background music at full volume and a face covered by 2.8 lbs of percings? Really?
