Its the Russians doing what the Russians do, also probing our airspace at the same time. It does seem unusual that we have 7 (9)  ships on station shadowing the Russians. four of them are type 23

Don't forget the Russian Tugs. They go no-where without because of the breakdown issues.

This is a very weak story, as it doesn't say what the ships are. i want to know! is it the Pyotr Velikiy? Of course, even the Russian navy isn't the same now since the good old days of the Kashins, Krivaks, Krestas and Karas. Now they were some impressive things.

Three Steregushchiy-class corvettes, two Ropucha-class landing ships and two Admiral Grigorovich-class.
