Help please, to remove targeted text ads

Recommended Posts

A few hours ago, I checked my Android phone and it said "blahblahblah [I can't remember it] downloaded" in the notifications.

Since then, every text I receive has a targeted ad attached to it.

Does anyone know how I can remove it, or point me to a helpful website, please?

I recommend Malwarebytes.com products without reservation and I see they have an Android option.

For PCs they have a free version, idk if Android also does but for years I used the free with a Virus prog and now just use their paid pro version for my laptop and remain totally pleased with them.

I have zero linkage with Malwarebytes in case you wonder.

How very strange. I do not have an android to know how to locate downloads on it or how to remove them. Perhaps some who does will reply, Sorry, fave Hedgehog :(

The problem is..... I don't know what question to ask without a pile of irrelevant crap coming up.

Ok..... I think I've found it!

There's a file called T050 on my SD card that I don't think should be there.

I can't delete it though.

No good!  It only scans the apps.

The suspicious file is on my SD card.

I have gone into setting and have done a system restorer/reset but saved contacts photos, music etc to one of my other computers before resetting and will have to reload all your apps after it has been wiped.

I thought I'd be a good samaritan while I'm sat here and see if I could help, so I did a refined search for "Android" and "T050."

I got referred to an adult video site for '50 year old p***y'

I hate the Internet...

What is the file extension?

If you can't find a way to remove the intrusive app, the best and most safest way is to do a factory reset on your phone! It's troublesome though, because if you don't backup all your files and settings you will have to start from scratch with the phone.

Unmount the SD card and try using a PC to delete the file, or alternatively disable Wi-Fi and data network then use the file manager to delete it, then reboot and run i manager...

Only if you're certain and sure if the file is the culprit... If successful, then reset the app or browser affected
