Popular Post Kismit Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #1 Share Posted March 29, 2020 After a short discussion with some of the Moderating staff I have decided to start a thread for people to simply express their own personal experience. Strictly no politics. No blame. This thread is being posted as genuine concern for our little internet community and is purely for asking if people are OK. 13

Popular Post Piney Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #4 Share Posted March 29, 2020 I help stock the helpless and hopeless up. Now I'm in for the duration, except to walk to the lake, waiting 2 weeks to see if I come down with anything. My sister made it home ok. She tested clear. She just ran money to our nephew in Camden but she's not making physical contact or even getting out of the truck. 11
Popular Post Kismit Posted March 29, 2020 Author Popular Post #5 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Discovering today just how hard the stir crazy is. We haven’t been in contact with other people other than Skyping my granddaughter for her birthday and talking to the neighbour across the fence, for nearly a week, and now the weather has packed in. Hubby and I had scheduled a croquet match in the front yard. I was going to dress up for it.
Popular Post +and-then Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #6 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Mostly homebound except for my evening walks. I've had a couple of neighbors tell me it's nice to see me continuing I guess any little act of normalcy is appreciated these days.

Popular Post Overdueleaf Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #9 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Good in my neck of the woods. Whatever I came down with last week is gone. I am considered an essential employee in my state so I will be heading back to work in the next few days. My oldest son is an essential employee as well, his company makes packaging for medical, food, and i hate to say it but funeral companies. He has been putting in overtime the past few weeks. My youngest son is off work for awhile, he isn't complaining. The past few days have been quite warm and the windows have been open, the breeze sure feels nice. This weekend I hope to get down to the chicken area and do a thorough cleaning and set up new nesting and bathing tires. This past fall my flock was decimated by an unseen critter, first time it has happened in my 10 years of having them (they typically free range over 2 + acres and have a fenced in 1/4 acre "safe space" and coop). I have 1 rooster and 2 hens that survived, hoping to rebuild the flock from them. Before self isolation I picked up fixings for a rather large container garden, I am also looking forward to get these set up over the next few weeks.

We put in a large seed order and I'm mucking with some elevated beds using wood I already have so we have a "double decker" garden.
Popular Post Overdueleaf Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #11 Share Posted March 29, 2020 @Piney my soil is terrible here and since I will likely be putting in 10+ hour days 6 days a week soon, i figured that a container garden would be a bit easier to get up and going vs a raised bed garden, which I have always wanted. really looking forward to see how the potato barrels will turn out!
Popular Post Kittens Are Jerks Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #12 Share Posted March 29, 2020 Everything's peachy at my end. I have everything I need, as well as enough to keep me busy. My brothers and their families are up at their cottages but I stayed in the city so that my mom wouldn't be alone. She's my only concern at the moment as she's working extra shifts in acute care to give other doctors there a break. She sees her regular patients in emergency situations only. It's not like there are hundreds of COVID cases coming in, just people who think they have it because they sneezed a couple of times. Other than that, my brothers are driving me crazy with their constant texts reminding me to be careful. They're worried and upset that we're not up there with them and won't let up. But they are especially scared, as I am, that our mom will be exposed to it. 11

Unemployed because of Covid19 Isolated, and concerned about paying the rent, the utilities, and worried about becoming sick. I now know what I did wrong and will try again. But I've given up on learning to cook, focusing instead on learning to speak a couple of new languages.

Popular Post freetoroam Posted March 29, 2020 Popular Post #20 Share Posted March 29, 2020 We are in lock down at our marina. No boats in or out. No staff No visitors. Gates and bridge closed. We have a key to get out for essentials. Our community has a wattsapp group so we can communicate for asking if anyone needs anything when someone goes out and lots of good old British humour to keep us sane. We have out up a washing line and have planted seeds, lots of seeds for veg. We all walk our dogs within the marina. No outsiders are allowed in. We were already self sufficient before in terms of heating and electric, couple of newby boaters were a bit worried, but they have been assured we all help each other. All hunky dory here in our 'commune'. Keeping in touch with mother through video wattsapp. She is fine and video apping her brother and friends, she is loving the technology.. I get her shopping once a week, got to leave it outside her flat now. Keep safe folks. 9

docyabut2 Posted March 29, 2020 #25 Share Posted March 29, 2020 In my state of Ohio our governor said the peak of that virus will peak in May and so a lock down will continue , even nurse students will be hired. Its sad that car festivals places and other places are turned into hospitals https://www.13abc.com/content/news/Detroit-Auto-Show-canceled-as-FEMA-569196201.html 8
