I listened to his interview yesterday and it felt like a warm hug at a time where there are very few warm hugs. Stay healthy and safe Captain Tom.

Captain Tom Moore: How will coronavirus fundraising be spent?

Capt Tom Moore's initial hopes of raising £1,000 by lapping his Bedfordshire garden 100 times before his 100th birthday seem like a distant memory, with the total now surpassing a staggering £21m.

The fund continues to rise and has been earmarked for the NHS. What will happen to the money?

Read a good comment recently: who needs mega-millionaire popstars and sportsmen when we have people like Tom to aspire us?   The culture of celebrity may have taken quite a hit :)

This guy should be rewarded by giving him a KNIGHTHOOD, for services to the NHS , when you see people like singers ,actors , and bike riders getting the title of Sir , which they i.m.o. do Not deserve .

Do you think that's funny , because I think it's in really Bad taste , Tom is 99 years old and doing his best to help people and the Country , and you should be ashamed of yourself for making fun of a guy like this , you're fubar .

Captain Tom sent thousands of 100th birthday cards

A war veteran who raised millions for the NHS has been sent more than 25,000 birthday cards.

Captain Tom Moore, 99, raised more than £27m by completing 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.

The South Midlands Mail Centre has dealt with 25,000 cards, but that number could rise ahead of Capt Tom's birthday on 30 April.

Centre manager Stephen James said: "None of the team have ever known one person receive so much mail."

Now the best thing that could happen is to ask Tom to raise money for 'Children in Need' then we won't have to suffer 5 hours of Lenny Henry and his sleb. pals & what passes for BBC comedy these days.
