Japan to plan for UFO encounters

Although Defense Minister Taro Kono doesn't believe in UFOs, he wants the Self-Defense Forces to have a plan in place for any encounter--just in case.

Kono made the comment at a news conference on April 28 after the U.S. Defense Department declassified and released videos shot by Navy pilots pointing to the possibility that UFOs exist.

“We would like to establish procedures in the event an encounter is made with a UFO,” Kono said.

He indicated his ministry and the SDF would begin preparing for such an event.

May I suggest they do not send the planes out, look what happened last time they tried that stunt.

They could at least have not used the term "UFO".   Are we really to believe that Kono doesn't believe in unidentified flying object?   He believes every aircraft is known by everyone?

It should have read - Minister Taro Kono doesn't believe in alien craft visiting the Earth.

Interestingly, despite expressing skepticism about the topic of UFOs, Kono seemed to know more than he was letting on when asked about his views on the supernatural and psychic abilities.

"That is a corporate secret," he said.

That is an example of humor, not evidence that Kono believes in the supernatural or psychic abilities.

What makes you think he doesn't belive in alien craft? The wording seems evasive and the Japanese are getting plans in place.

Nothing.    The wording says that he doesn't believe there are any unidentified flying objects (UFO).   I question that.  I see something flying that I cannot identify on a daily basis.
