I'm not sure what is supposed to be a ghost in the pic, but it is a fairly poor quality pic in general. Welcome to UM :st

That is not a ghost on the right, but it is a very low quality photo. Everything is wrong. What camera did you use?

I can barely see the woman in the photo, never mind the ghost.

I am thinking the woman is the ghost.  Best quality yet. :sm

In all seriousness, if you are referring to the red/orange burst in the top left, then it could be one of two things; lens flare or finger on the lens.  Orrrr a ghost.

Havta ask, OP - how many competing pics have you seen, from which you selected that as the 'best'?

More seriously, what is the background to this image?  I'm guessing it's a very old scan of a negative on film, perhaps?

If it is, the 'white' bits are probably not even parts of the original scene, but correspond to dust and other gunk like fingerprints and grease/dirt on the negative, thusly:

Note that the original negative would not have have looked exactly like that, as most negatives have a color cast that is removed by the scanning software.  I used to do a lot of film scanning, so I've seen many images with similar debris.  It can be cleaned up, usually invisibly, but that's another story..
