The problem is the propaganda and rhetoric of the Left.

The Leftist mob and their Democrat flunkies have done this to our country.  They have divided our society and ruined our economy with lies and hoaxes and hate-fueled violence.

They are trying to tear down all historical references...many of which were erected to symbolize victory over civil strife they themselves caused.

They (Dems) were the original party of oppression and slavery in this country...and then they tried to convince the public the two parties "switched", and now the Dems are for human rights.  Total BS.  They are STILL the party of oppression, subjugation, and hate.

Is it just a coincidence that US cities suffering unrest and collapse are all long-time Democrat-run cities?  No.  Yet, after all of these years of mis-management of everything including city police departments, they claim the answer to their incompetence is to defund the police and send the money to Leftist causes.  These people want nothing less than a total collapse of society into chaos and misery.

I wonder if these idiots have any clue as to just how hard the soul of the American people will fight to eliminate them permanently.  And how ready we are.

who is police working for really?  lawmakers, enforcing their will, aka laws,

Isn't it mostly lawyers and courts  that do that?  Maybe my age and skin color affect the outcome, but usually police have shown up as protection or to maintain order.  A couple of times I was glad to see them.

Yet without it, no positive change is possible.  When the Democratic politicians took off their Klan hoods and decided to recruit blacks to their constituencies, we got the "Great Society".  Prior to that, illegitimacy was greater in white communities.  When the government started buying votes with housing, medical and other bennies, it also created a situation where fathers HAD to be gone or those bennies went away.  Voila`, instant, permanent dependent class that votes in a block for life.  They created modern Plantations, mostly in the inner cities and have kept those voters on them for decades.

I know it makes a good narrative and some of it is  true, but have you read the history of this time?

After the Civil War, the South was the province of Democrats because they hated the party of Lincoln which had just beat them in a Civil War.  Democrats and Dixiecrats ruled the South in all of their corruption for nearly 100 years.  It wasn't until Kennedy and Johnson pushed the Civil Rights Amendment that the South rebelled against the Democrats.  As was pointed out, George Wallace and Lester Maddox started life as Democrats. AG Kennedy came down hard on them and the  National Guard was called in on a couple of occasions I believe.  Johnson knew and said as much that the Civil Rights Act would lose the South for the Democrats.  He was right.  Then came Nixon and his Southern Strategy, and the South begin changing parties.  Its been about a 60 year run for the Republicans hasn't it?  I don't come from a real enlightened family, but to resist Civil Rights, they stopped being Democrats.

Republicans from somewhere else did not move to the South and exile the Democrats, people just changed parties.  The same guys that wore hoods before still wore hoods, they just voted a different ticket.  The people that did not still do not, they stayed Republican

You could pick a city  like Atlanta and follow its history.  Atlanta had a thriving Black community in the late 1800's with Atlanta university, Morehouse College an Spelman College started after the Civil War.. There were professionals, an integrated business district and a growing Black Middle class.

After the Civil War came Jim Crow Laws and the Klan.  Jim Crow had a big part in the ending of integration and driving Black business and households into the ghettos.  Even if they had money, they were not allowed to move into better neighborhoods.  Democrats have done a terrible job of getting Blacks out of slum housing, but it was Jim Crow that put them there.  It was not trying to buy votes that created that destitution, it was trying to suppress votes.  The inheritors of Jim Crow now seem to call themselves Republicans.
