Arcana Posted July 6, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) It's so easy for them to forget Whilst it's out there casting its net Trawling to mould their fates To take them to pearly gates Had God finally forgot Abandoned his creation to rot Condemned by those who sinned Left scattered by the wind If only they'd paid more attention Heard all those pleas that mention And looked before they leapt As the world around them slept Instead of acting suicidal All it took was being mindful Helping the needy by being there Instead of grasping, just to share Before they see the final curtain Towards a future that's uncertain What have they finally learned As their world before them burned Along the frenzied seas of woe Lay beaches where the masses flow Drenched in disregard everywhere Where drowning eyes can fix their stare As they struggle to remain sane Can it ever be the same again A return to gratuitous health On a journey to discover self They cling to hope with all their might That day may come to end this night Through noble acts deserving praise An end will come to these dark days © Arcana Edited July 6, 2020 by Arcana typo 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It has been a while and like some ancient volcano, stuttering back to life with a cough of smoke, I have have finally written something after a long period of preoccupation with family matters and moving home. I admit I've written better things in the past, but maybe starting to write again is just the tonic I need at this current time, a kind of therapy if you like.
