Trapped in grotesque form, writhing in condemnation
Dreams of distant beauty, blighted by damnation
No hope of escape, lest devoured by some beast
A tender, tasty morsel, to appetize a feast

Hiding the repulsiveness, that manifests revulsion
Riding undulating waves, a crawl that gives propulsion
The only motivation, is simply staying alive
A loathsome, hapless creature, trying to survive

This lepidopteran nightmare, that never seems to end
A blight on all that's beautiful, without a single friend
Can there ever be redemption, for this poor tortured soul
Something more than dreams, of appearances it stole

A metamorphosis has begun, a release from torrid exile
Cocooned by wishful yearning, for something far less vile
Slowly it awakens, hopes fashioned by desire
A brand new day is dawning, far brighter than the prior

What is it that emerges, to bask this new born day
Everything seems so different, the doubts have gone astray
It no longer writhes, nor views life with dismay
A prayer has finally been answered, to chase the blues away

Why suffer in silent torture, when so much joy awaits
It only takes a change of view, to see what thought creates
So spirit can be unfettered, freed to flutter the sky
And take a place in nature, like a beautiful butterfly

Thank you - for another genius poem.

Rebirth is a very painful process!

However, we won't learn to fly unless we can overcome pain.

Thank you for your lovely comment LightAngel.:tu:

Rebirth can indeed be a painful process, particularly when coupled with complete honesty and objectivity as we face our inner demons and confront our shortcomings, at least this is what I found. It is only through this process of coming to terms with self, that one can clear the path to move forwards and away from the pain that holds us back, thus progressing along our spiritual journeys, in my humble opinion. I don't mean this to sound preachy or pretentious, but I struggled for many years myself, before someone taught me to take a detached view of self from a 3rd person perspective, much like a fly on the wall (or a butterfly staring at a caterpillar) and see where changes needed to be made........it helped me to change my life path and improve. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm flying just yet though, but I'm hoping one day I'll get my pilot's licence lol!:D

Thank goodness that we don't need a pilot's license for our kind of flying. :D
