+Hammerclaw Posted July 11, 2020 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2020 Cloth or disposable diapers? I'm for disposables. I could tell you horror stories about diaper pails on wash day and a wee young lad that had to help mother.

I'm on the no-thank-you list for washing out those things.

They had to be hand washed before going into the washer, an old ringer washer. Mom never got to use disposables on her 5.

Just more modern conveniences. A tv, an electric or gas stove, inside toilet and bath, telephone and washing machine were basic but not yet universal conveniences back then. My grandmother washed with a washboard in a galvanized tub which also doubled as a bath tub. Cooked and heated with wood stoves, too. She did have a tv and phone.

Yeah, an old hermit like me eats his share of those. We eat what we can and have time to prepare. Breakfast is my favorite meal. I usually make a pepper cheese omelet, sausage and brioche toast and apricot preserves and butter, coffee, orange juice and an apple juice chaser.
