The Philippines have their cryptid too, and it is called "kapre".

It is some hairy ape-like creature hanging out in trees.

I learned about that, when my then Philippina girlfriend saw me on her webcam, while I was squatting (Yes!) on my bureau chair, smoking a cigarette, and typed, "Kapre". When she staid here, she never forgot to mention my - to her - hairy chest, lol.
