My brother's Ghost expierenece

My brother shared this ghost experience with me the other day and I was sort of taken aback because I had no idea this was going on with him a couple years ago.

Him and his wife live in their 2nd home now. But apparently in their first home they had a lot of ghost activity.

He said in his 1st home cabinets would shut and they would hear noises like crying and dishes breaking at night. He said both him and his wife reported hearing crying. One time he even heard plates smashing at night so he got up and went to the kitchen but everything was fine.

They bought security cameras to watch their couple dogs. They put it on the shelf in the corner of the room. They never caught anything too crazy, the biggest thing is video of the camera getting thrown off the shelf.

I guess it eventually got so bad that they called the police to check and see if someone was secretly living in their attic or something. All the cops found was a handprint on a window inside the house that was too big to be my brother or his wife. The police took a picture of it.

My brother is in the military and I guess his lack of sleep became such an issue that the military noticed and offered to have the base Chaplin go to his home lol.

Finally they ended up "sagging" the home. They sagged the house at night, the very next morning they looked around and found that every single window screen outside of the house was peeled back in one corner. They interpreted it as the ghost trying to get back in.

Not long after they searched the attic and found a old hat that they threw away. They claims after sagging and getting rid of the hat that the experiences stopped. And a year or so later they had to move anyways.

My brother's wife is not a trustworthy source for most things but I have 100 percent confidence that my brother believes everything he said.

There are skeptical explanations for stuff like maybe the dogs knocked the camera off the shelf, maybe they just kept hearing things at night because they were half asleep and sleep deprived. Maybe the screens were always like that and they just didn't notice before.

But regardless I found it to be an interesting ghost story so I decided to share it. Enjoy. :D

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like hundreds of stories I've heard extrapolated to millions/billions with the same type of consistent things. I am a believer in paranormal phenomena and I would give this a good chance of being one more case.

As I have said many times on here that I believe with cable TV and internet sharing that the paranormal may be 'rare' but not 'all that rare' either.

Yeah. Figured I would share it since UM haven't had a interesting ghost story for a while.

Demons. That's the only legit answer, well aliens work too. Demonic aliens, both bases covered.

Demonic aliens interbred with Bigfoot?

I could offer some debunking on all this, but to be honest, I just don't feel like it. I'm sure by now most can predict what I'd say anyways. So what is the point?

Go for it if you want. It's the nature of ghost stories. There is always room for doubt it's never possible to prove.

Nah, I'm good. Kinda burnt out on doing that. It always leads to arguments. Really don't feel like dealing with certain people today.

Different time zones so I probably won't hear from him for a bit.

I also am going to ask him if him and his wife were ever up at the same time and heard the crying or dish breaking. Or if all the times it was them seperatly.

It's never possible to prove and people who never experienced anything similar, or have a reason to deny the possibility of ghosts (religious reason, for example) will never believe there was anything extraordinary in such events.

In my house, rebuilt from ruin, both me (all right, I am crazy) and my husband (well, he's not) would hear, very clearly, that someone is switching an old light switch that wasn't even there anymore.

It went on for months, along with other little things, and eventually it ceased. I'm genuinely sorry, I didn't mind it. It wasn't scary, but it certainly was interesting.

I openly admit it's impossible for me to believe in ghost unless experiences happened to me, and even then it would be hard for me unless it was some pretty crazy stuff.

But I do still enjoy hearing people's stories.

He had no choice.

Kidding.

No, seriously, my husband is very determined sceptic, but he did hear the same as I did. It usually occurred late at night so we'd both hear it. At first we didn't know what that little sound was and then we remembered that's how these oldfashioned light switches used to sound. We said it must be grandpa trying to turn the lights off because he thinks we should've been asleep by now. And that he's determined to keep his light switch no matter it isn't there anymore.

The difference is that I really think so, while my husband was only joking with that "explanation". I don't know how he would explain these sounds if he was pressed to give a non-humorous answer. Probably a passing-by low-flying paraglider knocking on the window, because that sounds convincing, unlike the ghosts.

Exactly. I wouldn't believe in stories of others if I had no stories of my own. And I also would be prone to think I'm crazier than I thought if I had no other people who experienced the same as I did.

Of course, what I think are the ghosts, could be phenomena caused within our minds, or by our minds. Maybe it's even crazier to think we can project sounds and images that aren't there, than to think these are ghosts.

Who knows. I don't :D

But I enjoy a good ghost story so thank you for posting your brother's ghost story. Good, classic one.

I hope it is not that contributors don't need any hail of negativity on this forum for just telling a honest story.

I can add my own ghost story. My family know it as the phantom hand story.

This happened many years ago, sometime in the late 60's. At the time we, Dad, Mom my brother, sister and myself would visit my dad's parents on a Saturday afternoon for tea and a catch up. Us kids would play on the back garden if the weather was dry and so it was on this particular Saturday.

Before food was served bro, sis and me would be taken up stairs to the bathroom to decoke our hands. On this occasion it fell to my aunt, Dads eldest sister, to try and persuade us to remove as much dirt as possible before letting us near the food.

The three of us kids would all stand in front of the sink with an adult standing behind, things progressed normally until I noticed something in the bath immediately to my left. It was what appeared to be a black glove. It had a 3d appearance and there was three raised ribs running from the wrist onto the back of the hand finishing before the fingers started.

It was there only for a sec or so and then was gone. My brother standing to my right leaned forward and looked into the bath at the same time and said he had seen a black object, my aunt standing above and behind us took a step back and said nothing but quickly escorted us out of the bathroom. It was only latter that evening that I found out she had seen it to.

Years latter (5-6) I spotted the same object again, in the bath, but was in the bathroom on my own.

I was just responding to your comment that we haven't had a good ghost story posted in some time. And I said I hope it is not because of the hail of negativity honestly told stories get on this forum.

I enjoyed the story, thanks. :tu:

You said "first home".....

Disruption, or perceived noise of disruption, often occurs when people move into a property and make changes that the previous occupiers (who are no longer with us) don't approve of.

I have personal experience of this. It's so common, it's bordering on cliché.
