We've been doing a good job of messing up our own planet, but what about the rest of the solar system ?

There are large sections of humanity wholly negative about themselves and their impact on the world around them.

What we have done to the Earth is great, we are well on our way to being an inter-system civilization which will no doubt start at some point this century. A few centuries later we will have the need to become galactic and start spreading to other star systems. What a beautiful magnificent thing.

Eh, we can't even destroy our whole planet. The only thing we're a threat to is ourselves...And most of the other life on earth. That's not going to change for centuries, if ever.

when you say destroy what do you mean?  i hardly think Jupiter has much to worry about.  We already humiliated Pluto but even he didn't seem to mind.  you give us too much credit.

Well could, yeah. Almost anything is possible if you give it enough time. But are any of these scenarios even remotely likely? I don't think so...

This thread reminded my of this epic exchange from Stargate SG-1:

Jacob Carter: Come on, Sam. It can't be any harder than blowing up a sun.
Samantha Carter: You know, you blow up one sun and suddenly everyone expects you to walk on water.

What a stupid article.  We can't even destroy the Earth.  We can only make it uninhabitable. The planet would still be here.

But according to a post on the Atheist Delusion thread, we just got here last Thursday.

Are we being canceled already?

You mean like how the Earth was destroyed 10 years ago when the Large Hadron Collider started operating ?

Yup, Earth was sucked into a baseball size singularity and nobody realized it. Now we're just waiting to evaporate via Hawking radiation.
