"Some Wetherspoons pubs have run out of ketchup, leaving customers with nothing red to dip chips in.

"The pub chain said “high demand” thanks to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme combined with problems with supply after storms flooded a Heinz factory to create the condiment crisis.

"One member of staff told The Sun there had been no ketchup for "weeks", adding: “It’s the great tomato sauce scandal.”

"It's also led to a run on sachets of brown sauce and mustard as customers looks for alternative dipping options."
