5G guide launched to dispel conspiracies

Recommended Posts

Still Waters

A new guide to 5G has been published by the government, in an effort to dispel the growing conspiracy that the service harms people's health.

Some theories have emerged that suggest the emerging technology has links to the outbreak of the coronavirus, and that it can harm people by emitting dangerous levels of radiation - claims which have been repeatedly dispelled.

The campaign of misinformation has resulted in a number of 5G masts being vandalised over the last few months, despite warnings from the government that the damage could prevent emergency calls being made.

I don't buy the conspiracy nonsense, I just don't want a network run by the Chinese.

When I say "Chinese" I mean the CCP, not the actual Chinese people.

Out of interest, what do you think Huawei will do that is such a threat?

Dunno, wouldn't buy them though, you see stories about intrusive software, but I'd like to think if that is true we'd be warned officially.

Ditto, there are plenty of other companies from more trustworthy nations to use.

We would be. They're just a bit shoddy and, hypothetically, being a Chinese company, the Chinese government can tell them to do anything and they have to do it.

Which is why Huawei hardware is not used in any of the UK 5G network that actually handles the data.

Hopefully that puts your mind at ease.
