400-year-old mummified goat found in the Alps

The hairless, mummified remains of a 400-year-old goat has been uncovered by a champion Skier in the Alps.

The leathery horror was found entombed in Alpine ice centuries after it took its last breath.

Champion skier Hermann Oberlehrer was on a six hour hike when he made the grisly discovery.

He was miles from civilisation in Val Aurina, Italy, when he noticed something sticking out of the ice, Live Science reports.

The mummified goat is now being studied by scientists in a laboratory.

It will be studied by experts to improve conservation techniques, according to reports.
