diddyman68 Posted September 12, 2020 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2020 Little 80s music quiz, I'll give a snippet of lyrics from popular 80s tunes. Just give the song title and artist. Some easy, some not so.....no googling answers. 1.I never thought I'd miss you Half as much as I do And I never thought I'd feel this way The way I feel about you. 2.....Every now and then I fall apart Turn around, bright eyes Every now and then I fall apart 3....Well, I'm standing here, what do I see? A big nothing threatening me It's so sad when you're young To be told you're having fun. 4....I've never been closer I tried to understand That certain feeling Carved by another's hand, oh 5...We're no strangers to love You know the rules and so do I A full commitment's what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get this from any other guy 6...Your pop caught you smoking, and he said: "No way!" That hypocrite smokes two packs a day Man, living at home is such a drag Now your mom threw away your best porno mag (Busted!). 7...Burning the ground, I break from the crowd I'm on the hunt down, I'm after you Scent and a sound, I'm lost and I'm found. 8.....It's 8:15, and that's the time that it's always been We got your message on the radio, conditions normal and you're coming home. i will give answers soon....if anyone replies.. diddyman68 Posted September 12, 2020 Author #8 Share Posted September 12, 2020 Ok,this one is no particular era. Just a smidge tougher than the last quiz. 1.... No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue I could not foresee this thing happening to you If I look hard enough into the setting sun My love will laugh with me before the morning comes. 2...... Too many shadows, whispering voices Faces on posters, too many choices If, when, why, what? 3.... Oh God save history God save your mad parade Oh Lord God have mercy All crimes are paid. 4.... Cover me with kisses, baby Cover me with love Roll me in designer sheets I'll never get enough Emotions come, I don't know why Cover up love's alibi . 5.... What she asked of me at the end of the day Caligula would have blushed "You've been in the house too long" she said And I naturally fled . 6.... We talk and we talk until my head explodes I turn on the news and my body froze These braying sheep on my TV screen Make this boy shout, make this boy scream!. 7... I said, "Pretend you've got no money," She just laughed and said, "Oh, you're so funny." I said, "Yeah? Well, I can't see anyone else smiling in here." 8... My mother was a tailor She sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans.

Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr both made a version during the 80's. But most people regard it as a 60's Animals song. The only version of it that was a hit. zep73 Posted September 14, 2020 #21 Share Posted September 14, 2020 (edited) Okay, here is my list. These are all 80's hits. Some international and some British. If there is a cover or two among them, they are only included because they were major hits in the 80's also. 1. Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes Galloping hard on the plains Chasing the redskins back to their holes Fighting them at their own game Murder for freedom the stab in the back Women and children are cowards attack 2. It was a flight on the wings Of a young girls dreams That flew too far away And we could make the monster live again Oh hands move and heart beat on Now life will return in this electric storm A prophecy for a fantasy The curse of a vivid mind 3. You can sit around and wait for the phone to ring Waiting for someone to tell you everything Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring Maybe a diamond ring 4. You don't want to hurt me But see how deep the bullet lies Unaware I'm tearing you asunder Ooh, there is thunder in our hearts Is there so much hate for the ones we love? Tell me, we both matter, don't we? 5. My mother told me good, my mother told me strong She said, be true to yourself and you can't go wrong But there's just one thing that you must understand 6. Is there any just cause for feeling like this? On the surface, I'm a name on a list I try to be discreet, but then blow it again I've lost and found, it's my final mistake She's loving by proxy, no give and all take Cause I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times 7. Let's sway while colour lights up your face Let's sway, sway through the crowd to an empty space 8. Strapped in the chair of the city's gas chamber Why I'm here, I can't quite remember The Surgeon General say's it's hazardous to breathe I'd have another cigarette But I can't see, tell me who you're gonna believe Please include my name in your answers, like this: @zep73 Edited September 14, 2020 by zep73

That's a dead end. @diddyman68 @Arbenol 4, 5 and 6 seems to be causing some trouble. Maybe a few hints will help. 4: It's a female singer. The title of the song resembles the title of the first song on the list. 5: Made by a male-female duo. The woman had/s very short hair. 6: I knew this one would be very hard to figure out. It's an English band. In the music video the lead singer wears a trenchcoat. Part of the song title is in parenthesis.
