I was curious after looking at the book titles on the bookshelf, so I did some backtracking and found the photographer on Reddit where he/she goes by the name ‘pizzaslayer111’. He/she has a very interesting personality.
Of course, my reply has nothing to do with the topic, but it was a fun puzzle to solve while drinking coffee this morning. B)

By the same reasoning, is the Starbuck's barista's customer also their employer?  Maybe it's not that their employer doesn't give a damn about typos it's that they understand they're going to occur.  I thought their employers just wanted to get some ads in front of our eyeballs so they make money, narrative-schmarrative.

Maybe...if the Starbuck's customer has stock in the company.   Money.  The Media Mogul's make money...through a variety of different means.  None of which have to do with you buying soap.

You do realize that this very narrative of 'media programming the sheep' you are proposing is itself a journalistic narrative furthered by other media companies to itself program the sheep?  You sure you're just not the subject of some programming too here?  Nothing wrong with your enthusiasm of course, but you are connecting a simple typo to an organized effort to program the masses keep in mind.  And again to my point above, in America, I can't think of many times that the motivation of spreading a 'narrative' didn't take a backseat to the opportunity to make money.

Since I don't listen to any media, I am not being programmed by anybody.  I use to listen occasionally to talk radio.  I assume that is what you are referring to.  And to a large degree  you are correct.  There is only ONE media.  It's kind of like Republicans vs Democrats.  Really?  Are Republicans really that different from Democrats?  Is the Right a thing and is the Left a thing?  Actually, in realidad, we only have one Political Party.  The Washington Party.  The Washington Party divides us at every opportunity.  Black vs White,  Rich vs Poor,  Gay vs Straight,  Republican vs Democrat,  Gun Lovers vs Gun Haters, The Left vs The Right, Liberals vs Conservatives, Country Club vs Hayseed, Terrorists vs Everyone Else.    By keeping us divided they slowly feed the narrative...because they want us all to be good little Socialists where the Government takes care of everyone.  When that happens we have no power at all...we lose the power over our own lives.

It isn't just simple typos we are talking about though LG.  Maybe lack of proofreading because of a lack of time is a real thing.  If it is, I would think it would be because there is too much information being offered up by all media.  Have you ever noticed that they tell you what they want you to know, and what you should think about it?  And they don't tell you what they don't want you to know?   Interesting.  Interesting how there is still a War on Terror after Twenty Years of War on Terror.   Interesting how an Impeachment of a President can happen because of a made up story of urinating on a bed with hookers. Interesting how there is no rubbing alcohol but millions of do it yourself Covid 19 test kits and masks by the aisles in every store in America, probably the World.

It's an interesting world and I'm not buying into anything the AP has to say.  Period.  Seems like to me that one way or another...all Media gloms on to whatever comes across from the Associated Press wires.  Interesting I say!

...and lastly...I care about good grammer and punctuation and all that...so I do proofread.  Proofreading is hard.  I read over every post I write numerous times and there are always mistakes....but I am not a journalist.  Not my job.   I'm just looking between the typos to get 'the real story'.

There’s no doubt that much of the main stream media have become little more than tabloid journalism.

Plus, they don’t believe in plagues.

Whats amazing, journalists urinalists and Dems still questioning Trump "Will you condemn white supremacists". In debates, Trump said "SURE". (not to mention many times before).

Next thing, all MSM paint Proud Boys as white supremacists. Are they?

Here is Enrique Tarrio on Tim Pool's podcast (Its a 2+ hour interview, but its worth to listen to the end)

Well, vewy vewy scawy white supwemacists, ain't they, huh?

And yes, my work is like journalism in that every task is new and has the potential to be different from seemingly identical tasks you've done before.

This is true but today's software can easily prompt a reporter to fix spelling or grammar.  It literally takes a few extra seconds as you are writing.

What annoys me is that the right didn't start whining about the Press until they started reporting the bad **** Bush did, and then it went nice and quiet until they started reporting the bad **** Trump did.

If your problem is with the messenger, because they say bad things about the guy you've invested yourself into, maybe you've invested poorly.

Give me a break!  The first thing I remember Trump saying was complaining about the press.  So, pot calling kettle black in my opinion.  Polarized much?  The whining from both sides has been quite annoying for the last 6 years.  And the campaigning 2 minutes after Trump was elected the first time is ridiculous, so of course the "other side started it" and I will be so glad when November is over.  The biggest problem I see is a president that insists on division when he was elected to represent the WHOLE country.  A lot of our representatives are doing this as well.  No other president has been stupid enough to be so obviously divisive.

Calling out the issues with someone's post is not an insult.

And you are not a moderator.

No I am not a moderator, but I am annoyed.  It looked like you could have gone on and on for pages, why bother.  You have your say, so what if someone disagrees with you.

Be annoyed then.

If someone posts demonstrably wrong content repeatedly and no one calls it out, others will start to believe it too.

I know Joc is a lost cause. This isn't about changing his mind, it's about allowing others to make up their own.

But there was no back and forth...I only have two posts to your  point  in this thread...one about coveffe...the other about where a quote I used actually came from...it only seems like back and forth ...but if  you will look back you will it was only coming from one direction.  I didn't even see any of the other posts because of the Bliss  ignore Button. :)

It's okay...I still adore you!

Fair point, but it depends on the quality of the software used by the organisation in question. I get the impression the quality of this sort of software has improved dramatically in the last couple of years, but that doesn't help if the organisation hasn't upgraded its software for a longer period than that. Not everyone can afford to upgrade to the latest software all the time.

Which is not to excuse poor grammar and spelling. But I'd humbly suggest software isn't the only issue at play here.

Just in English and primarily when they were grading research papers.  I hated doing those but I loved literature and writing simply essays.  Knowing you'd fail over a single misspelling had a way of FOCUSING the mind ;)

Oh, I agree.  I think the real issue is a simple neglect for maintaining professional standards.  I can't imagine spending tens of thousands on a Journalism degree and then relying solely on Twitter posts for content.  It's shameful, IMO.
