That's silly.

The push against TikTok started long before Tulsa and was started before Trump, Trump just later decided to support it. All social media has people against Trump.

Also, let's not forget WeChat is part of this?

You're really ignoring the geopolitical complexity of the situation just because Trump's name is around it.

Fair point,

Technically it was the Commerce Department. Idk what presedence there is on the Commerce Department doing stuff like that.

How do you feel about a TiK Tok ban in general, if it did go through congress?

Thats fine. I just dislike any one guy being able to unilaterally decide that.

I do think there is a fair argument against the way this happened.

I imagine it's going to get challenged in  court. I'll keep an eye out for the legal arguments during trial.

Now this is interesting, it's almost as if the "ban" was a negotiation tactic.

So the tentative deal is now that Walmart-Orcale will own 20 percent stock on TikTok. The key being that the U.S based Walmart-Oracle will store the U.S data in the U.S.

Thoughts?

Also worth noting that the ban on WeChat still stands.

Dumbest thing I've read in this thread.
