Dealing with dogma, get out your sledge hammer and start the demolition. :P

I don't see it as a demolition job, more, an upliftment.

On every dimension

Starting with ones consciousness..

One word.

Projection.

Have a good life, mate.

Often the thing one needs to hear is the hardest thing for them to hear.  All the best.

There is no projections just extending a helping hand.

Title: The Zen Experience

Author: Thomas Hoover

Release Date: November 14, 2010 [EBook #34325]

Language: English

...

The only authentic fragment of Hui-k'o's thought that has survived records his answer to an inquiry sent by a lay devotee named Hsiang, who reportedly was seeking spiritual attainment alone in the jungle. The inquiry, which seems more a statement than a question, went as follows:

. . . he who aspires to Buddhahood thinking it to be independent of the nature of sentient beings is to be likened to one who tries to listen to an echo by deadening its original sound. Therefore the ignorant and the enlightened are walking in one passageway; the vulgar and the wise are not to be differentiated from each other. Where there are no names, we create names, and because of these names, judgments are formed. Where there is no theorizing, we theorize, and because of this theorizing, disputes arise. They are all phantom creations and not realities, and who knows who is right and who is wrong? They are all empty, no substantialities have they, and who knows what is and

what is not? So we realize that our gain is not real gain and our loss not real loss. This is my view and may I be enlightened if I am at fault?12

Why do I feel that I want to run away from you?

Problem is.

We are related.

And therefore, going to have to make-up, sooner or later, sooner the better, and live as ONE.

However hard your fall is...

Please know.

That I am always here.

Except Shbat.

And the odd Bar-mist-fur.

Other religious holidays, please book in advance.

Sounds like an amygdala reaction, (flight) most likely you have some fears to explore that seem to be triggers that you then project onto my posts. Maybe, It is a way to give voice to your fears.

Sit with the reaction, just let it be, then observe what comes up, then go from there.

Tell me more about the feeling of wanting to run away?

I was not born into this world, only to flee it. If spirit I was before, then spirit will I be once again, after life. In the meantime, I am woven into the skein of life, a manifestation, perhaps, of spirit in flesh and this no accident. I am that I am and will experience life the best way I am able and let whatever is or is not after life, exist unto itself. There is only Now and here in this place, at this point in time, I Am.

Go on . I even look like a hirsute Buddha.(one epitome of enlightenment)  :)

However, I am mindful of my health, both physical and  mental.

eg I dont drink, smoke, use drugs, I am mostly vegetarian, and I get plenty of exercise . I  generally eat all fresh foods including fruit and veges.  a lot of which I grow myself.

I don't eat any salt or sugar.

I am not fanatical about anything, however.

My blood pressure, sugar levels, cholesterol etc.   are all exemplary .

I don't worry about my external appearance, including body image, clothing or haircuts . None of those define who we are

FYI “images of Siddhartha after he became the Buddha generally depict him with a healthy body mass index. images of the Chinese Zen figure Budai, the so-called happy fat Buddha or laughing Buddha, seem to go too far in the opposite direction. The symbolic point of this plump figure is to counteract images of Buddhism as world-negating and aloof from society.”

One’s physical state is as important as their emotional and mental state. One would strive to be at a healthy weight and  maintain it,  When one is overweight it impedes one’s  ability to do many things it adds unneeded stress on the human body and being obese is the cause of some very serious chronic health issues, especially after 60. It probably is one area one would want to be fanatical to get the weight off if they are carrying extra weight especially in the abdominal area. Not at you, just an add too.

Hi Crazy Horse

You have to think to have a thought so why not quit thinking if no thought is better than any thought.

Hi Hammer

I swooned when I saw death's face and she rejected me so many times that I got over her and am infatuated with the booty of destiny.:D

As far as I remember, this fat Buddha, Budai, wasn't a depiction of Buddha, but of a fat Chinese buddhist monk.

No thought is better than thought.

Cute premise, but how would one ever objectively prove such a claim...

Perhaps it depends on the quality of thought, not just the quantity...
