Blackbaud data breach sees millions affected

Bank account information and users' passwords are among details feared stolen by hackers in a security breach at a service used to raise donations from millions of people.

Many UK universities and charities, as well as hundreds of other organisations worldwide, use the software involved.

Its developer Blackbaud made the admission in a regulatory filing.

Blackbaud, a cloud service that provides fundraising software to organisations across the world, was hit by a cyber attack in May, with hackers extracting a copy of a subset of data. At least twenty universities and charities across the UK, US, and Canada were hit by the breach.

Even if you have nothing to do with this organisation, change your passwords on sensitive sites. I always do when I hear of a hacking of information.
