For the most part, it's probably a lack of education or some kind of mental illness preventing them from thinking straight. To be honest, I didn't think it could be deadly either until I ended up in the hospital with it and came close to taking a dirt nap. So my mistake is on me, my lack of education about it. Some people like me, just have to do things the hard way and learn the hard way. But on the other hand, scientists still can't explain why this virus affects some of us so bad and others not so bad through all age groups. It's like a roll of the dice. Some kind of weird fate of who lives and who dies. There has got to be a pattern as to why some get it bad and others are immune to it, but the professionals just can't seem to pin it down what it is after all this time.

My neighbor got it back in April, he works in a nursing home, he said it was like a cold to him and their wasn't much to it. And his 60 something parents had been around him the whole time he had it, but they didn't have any symptoms. Yet a relative of mine got it so bad it killed him, and he was in general good health. Go figure.

I am glad you recovered.   So sorry about your loss with your relative.  I guess my problem is working retail and getting the abuse and ignorance directed at me.

It is like the flu or a cold.  Some people get the flu and it takes them down, others are just miserable for a few days and then fine, some get colds multiple times a year, some rarely get one.

There are too many factors to determine who will have it rough and who won't.

I am sorry to hear about your relative.

Ambulance workers in Los Angeles County, California, have been told not to transport hospital patients that have extremely low chances of survival.

The directive comes as officials say the region could soon hit over 1,000 Covid-related deaths per day, and hospitals are overrun with patients.

Emergency workers have also been told to ration oxygen, which is in short supply due to the pandemic.

A New Jersey supermarket chain has announced it is becoming part of the vaccination program and will open 16 sites. The vaccine is not available to the general public yet, but the sites will remain to administer the shot when it is. Right now, it's just healthcare workers, first responders......

U.S. endures pandemic's deadliest day, overshadowed by Washington mob assault on Capitol

I went to go get my blood test today, we were discussing how people traveled outside of Canada eventhough the government said they would need a negative Covid test to get back in.  The nurse told me that there are Canadians traveling to the US to get the vaccination, and then being stuck until they get the test with negative results.  How could this be true?  It has to be hearsay, otherwise who is allowing travelers to get the vaccine that should be for first responders?

It probably isn't true, unless those Canadians own property in the U.S. (which is apparently common, a lot of snow birds in Florida and Arizona are from Canada)  so they have an address and legal residence so they can get in line and every state is handling it differently.   As far as I know it is just medical personel and first responders getting it this month, but I may be wrong.

Owning property makes sense.  But, if the news agencies can be trusted, there are vaccines being distributed through some very odd avenues

What avenues?   Do you have a link?   We get different news than you do in Canada.    I know that each doctor's office, clinic or hospital has doses and decides how to distribute them among their employees.   My friend works for a clinic in Espanola part time and he got one because the clinic got a few more doses than they expected.    My daughter works for a huge hospital in Philadelphia and she got one as well.   As for non  medical I have no clue how they are being distributed.

I found this article from the NY TImes about Florida

As far as I know, it's only healthcare workers and nursing home residents being inoculated at the moment. I did see lines in Florida so they may be doing it differently. It's up to each state to distribute the vaccine as they see fit. I know major drug stores and even supermarket chains are opening vaccine centers but they are still adhering to the healthcare, then first responders and so on protocols. It will take a lot of vaccination centers and help to give the shots to 350 million people as quickly as they can. The vaccines themselves are rolling out as quickly as they can produce them.

REVEALED: $30k-a-year Connecticut private school vaccinated 11 staff members before healthcare workers and the elderly after the CDC 'accidentally' put them on COVID 'critical' list

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9118767/Connecticut-private-school-vaccinated-11-staff-members-healthcare-workers-elderly.html

Just seemed odd that this happened.

There's also a scam going round the region here offering special "access" to the vaccine for a generous contribution, vaccine for what though, it does not say...

Oh, that kind of thing happens because of money (back room deals etc)  It is political which is always money motivated.   And the official that did that should be fired.   But I bet they will claim no one knows how it happened.   And I think children in school should be on the critical list if they are actually in a classroom instead of doing online school.   The problem is, BioNtech and Moderna did not use any children in their studies so those vaccines are not approved for children.  Astra Zeneca did find some children to use in their studies like all vaccines are supposed to, as well as testing to be sure once vaccinated the people exposed do not get the virus, which is another thing that the other two left out of their testing protocol.

They are literally killing people at hospitals. If you feel bad, dont go. Do everything you can to use home remedies. I was fine and then one day recently a health care worker i knew gave me a sandwich at their house. They are negative for covid. I immediately felt sick and the next day I went to the hospital. They gave me an IV and it made me worse.

Next time they forced me to take 600 aceteminophen and 600 advil twice without food. The second time I had to beg to have a little package of cracker with it. I stopped being able to walk and havent been able to shower myself or barely eat anything for about a week. I cant drive or go to work. My ears have been consistently popping throughout the day (although this started about two months ago) but the popping has turned in to something more like seizures. I have been seeing specialists but they are telling me nothing is wrong.

I cant sleep, they have me on tons of pain medication and the first dosage they prescribed me I took half of it and it nearly killed me. The right side of my neck is inflamed and i cant move my neck at all and I keep tasting blood. I have peed myself twice and they dont give a ****. They made me takes tons of expensive tests and told me they were all negative. I dont even think they ran the right tests. They keep asking me if I have symptoms of covid and now they have been changing the questions they ask me. They ask me if my back hurts and such when they do covid screening.

I know that I am not going to live, I cant leave the bed and I am becoming pretty stupid. I havent been able to go on my tablet or leave the house by myself. I am in excruciating pain. They took away my car and I was about to move in to a new apartment but i guess that wont happen now. If there is anything I can recommend, be very cautious of people and dont seek treatment at a hospital.

It sounds like you have a really bad infection or liver damage or both.  I hope you find a doctor that can help you, it sounds like it is too serious for over the counter medicines or homeopathic medicines unless you have a skilled practitioner helping you.

Caught!

David Chambers, 33, of Surbiton, South West London, has been charged with two counts of fraud by false representation, one count of common assault, and two breaches of COVID regulations.  He is alleged to have given the fake vaccine to the woman at her home.

Chambers has been remanded in custody and will appear at Kingston Crown Court on 12 February.

I got tested for COVID due to recent cold/flu symptoms and I will receive my results soon, wish me luck. CA had a huge spike in cases, primarily in areas surrounding Los Angeles and connected to Arizona. It's getting bad for the UK and nearby Ireland, but the world watches Brazil and South Africa where new mutated variants appeared.

Los Angeles County has recorded over 1 million coronavirus infections, becoming the first county in the U.S. to reach the grim milestone.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reported 1,003,923 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, and a total of 13,741 deaths.

Earlier this week, the county estimated that 1 in 3 residents have contracted the disease since the pandemic began, meaning that at least 3 million residents may have been infected.

Scientists in Colorado have injected 120 ferrets with an experimental vaccine for Covid. Ferrets are closely related to mink, who have seen a large outbreak of the disease.

Arizona is one state that did not close the schools.  The school my grandson goes to was on spring break when most of the country shut down in March.  They had one extra week off because of the virus then the governor decided to keep everything open and all the kids went back to school.  And all through the summer Arizona was in the top 3 of cases per capita in the country.

I honestly dont remember much of the past two weeks but I have no covid symptoms still which is good. Thank you. It has gotten better with treatment but they are thinking it is most likely related to my ears and GI. I would only hope my liver makes it out of treatment in decent condition.

While I was in there, I think only one patient was tested for Covid. The location I was in was pretty safe. I have been missing out on Covid news. Really only seeing what is happening here lately.
