Berlin attack targets museum artefacts

Recommended Posts

Eldorado

It is being described as one of the biggest attacks on art and antiquities in post-war German history, but it has taken more than two weeks to emerge.

At least 70 artefacts were sprayed with an oily liquid on Berlin's Museum Island, a Unesco world heritage site that is home to five famous museums.

The attack took place on 3 October, the anniversary of German reunification.

German reports have speculated whether supporters of a far-right conspiracy theorist may have been involved.

This is a HIGHLY speculative article that goes to GREAT lengths to try and pin the blame on a man called Attila Hildmann, on the grounds that he made some bizzarre tweets about the museum back in August. There is literally ZERO evidence that he was involved. But he is apparently a "far right" conspiracy theorist, so he fits  "the narrative".

Mention was made of a previous burglary at the Museum, without mentioning that the perpetrators where Lebanese muslim Mhallami's. Because that does NOT fit "the narrative".

Information is scanty, but it appears that the attacks where against Egyptian and Turkish exhibits.

They don't have any leads for this. The only lead is not one but quiet a few tweets and in person statements from Attila Hildman about this particular museum where he called for destruction. Seems logicly that the authorities have to investigate him. And that Attila is a far right racist and antisemit is from his own words and actions.

Logical that he should be investigated ? No doubt. But all of the newspapers are in lockstep allegding that he had something to do with it.

If Attlia Hildman was left-wing, I somehow doubt he would have had HALF the mentions in the press.

And anyway, the artifacts he critised where NOT the ones that have been reportedly attacked.

That is the lead so far, as I said. All newspapers report the information about the alleged involvement. Local as well as National newspapers. He is not accused yet.

As for the artifacts, not sure. He claimed that the entire museum is a satanic cult where human sacrifises are made. Why the targets were egyptian and turkish we do not know yet.

A huge granite bowl in front of the Altes Museum, which is part of the German capital's museum complex and houses antiquities, was defaced Friday night by some teenagers and adults, Berlin police said. Two of the suspects were temporarily detained.

In the past Hildmann made several speeches in front of the museum and at other public places of the Berlin Museums-Insel, claiming that the Throne of Satan is placed in the Pergamonmuseum for thousands of years (thats a stupid claim because the museum was build 1910-1930) and that the museum is "the head office of the global satanists community and Corona criminals".

Thats correct but based on his statements its the job of the public prosecutor`s office to investigate if he was involved by himself and/or if triggered the attacks, which is a criminal offence as per German laws.

Up until the C19 crisis he was a famous TV chef (vegan cooking only) and book author (he sold >1M books) here in Germany but became a conspiracy theorist this year, check Wiki. His chef career is over now, so the cash flow, his energy drinks have been banned in all shops so I`m sure that it will not take long that he have to use public transport instead of his Porsche 911 GT3.

Those museums bring back many memories.  I used to hop on a 4AM flight to Berlin, spend a few hours there, and return home in time for dinner.  Single flights were £16 with Rynair.

Sounds like some kind of reality break that's getting worse over time. Starts small and suddenly paranoia is rampant and Satanists are running around in the museum. Just a thought.
