uh, so?

So are you okay with the media calling the result of an election before the official declarations or not?

My take on it is from both angles. If there is any doubt who won and to rule out any conspiracy theory’s if I was either one I would say sure take your time do a solid recount on it let’s be 100% certain where all of America is behind the election results. But Biden? He’s just running all over the fact it appears he won when the state’s have not even certified the results yet. And rather they find enough evidence of voter fraud or not it’s like who cares just get it done and do it legal. Biden is not wanting it done legal he’s trying to rush it. What does this tell you? He’s a crooked politician and if all the votes come in favor of Biden yea America is back to being broke and politicians are back to filling there greedy pockets. I’m not a fan of Trump or Biden but out of the two of them Biden is a POS he always has been and always will be.

The only way forward is to ensure all future vote counts happen on the night/do not stop until all the votes are tallied and there is an official record of the event. This may mean counters work in shifts. This will mean the count must be recorded from the moment the first ballot box is opened until the last vote is counted - EVEN IF THE COUNTING ROOM IS CLOSED. There must be official observers from each party present but not involved in the count. An impartial third party must be responsible for the conduct of the count.

Irrespective of whether or not anything odd occurred during the “you all go home” period in certain places, it just looks ripe for corruption to have untallied votes sitting idle.

and, here’s the greatest heresy for Americans, move the day of the election to the weekend so more people can vote.

Just count mail-in ballots ahead of time like Ohio and Florida did.

That’s more of a ‘as well as’ band-aid rather than a proper solution, and still gives the excuse of ‘no official observation’ to parties who feel slighted.

and, I would add, create rules which all states must follow to allow reasonable and convenient access to voting by members all communities in their own communities. In other words outlaw state level voter suppression.

I agree - however I would also have a process of “identity proving” involved, show an ID which carries a signature, could be a library card for all that matters as long as it’s a proof of ID.

President Trump wanted the election results and the winner announced on the night of the election.    Nothing is official until the electors meet on Dec. 14th.  Want to wait until then?  FOX News or Rush or CNN or Biden or Trump can declare whatever they want, that doesn't make it official.  That makes it OK with me for the media to get the reporting and report the status when they have enough results.  Obviously in a close election it changes from day to day until all votes are counted.

I am a bit confused here. so if were not for Trump's lawsuits (I am not disputing anything) would have the states certified the results by now? If not was it due to standard procedures? how long have these lawsuits postpone the certification?

So far Trump has not succeeded in providing evidences to support fraud claims, plus there is a concensus amongst oberservers and authorities that there was no voter fraud, do you think these lawsuits are not what is delaying the certification or at the very least aknowledgement of Bidens victory?

The usual process is for states to certify results by Dec 14. So as of yet, Trump hasen't slowed anything down.

your question is invalid, since you can't show i accepted results before official declaration, prove your claim first

have you cheated on your taxes this year as bad as last year?  just answer yes or no.

I have to just put this out there.  Let's pretend for a minute that there was massive voter fraud and trump actually won (ridiculous).  Does anyone think TPTB would allow that truth to be told? Not a chance.  It would destroy all faith in the system if they overturned the count at this point.  In order for people's ability to keep faith in the system they would go to astronomical lengths to cover that up.  That is not necessary of course because trump lost, no need to further ratify anything he's in way too deep a hole to be dug out by a few thousand illegitimate votes here and there to make a difference there simply is not fraud on that kind of scale.  But if there was I don't think it would overturn the election it would be covered up, and I expect this to be a conspiracy theory that will be believed by some people for decades.

Spartan is wrong though.  The electoral college votes on December 14, the electors are picked by the states December 2, and the states certify the vote anywhere from mid to late November, normally late November as they need certified before December 2.

I mean technically you are right.

I was just going by when the EC official votes. Which is pretty much the hard deadline for certification. If the EC vote doesn't get pushed back then I don't see anything as being delayed.

Here is a timeline

Quote

Dec. 8: "Safe Harbor" deadline for final results. It is mandated by Congress that results are considered conclusive six days before electors meet.

Dec. 14: Electoral College delegations meet and vote for president. The delegations meet separately in their respective states and Washington, D.C., at places designated by the state legislatures.

Dec. 23: Results delivered to designated officials

Jan. 3, 2021: New Congress seated

Jan. 5: Georgia Senate runoffs

Jan. 6: Joint Session of Congress to formally count electoral votes and declare official election results.

Jan. 20: Inauguration Day

i'm betting it will be more of case study of psychology of masses and cult following, and I don't mean this as any sort of offense to Trump voters.

Possibly but I don't think I can agree with "cult following".  Although that may apply to some small number of trump followers I think there will be plenty of right leaning people who are also prone to believe conspiracy theories who will just love the idea of a coverup and an illegitimate president in the oval office.  In the long run it will have less to do with trump and more to do with a conspiracy theory.
