Is Tyson v Jones Jr a real boxing contest?

It will be intriguing to listen to the referee’s instructions when he calls them to centre ring: “Gentlemen, I gave you your instructions in the locker room, so defend yourself at all times, touch gloves – and, whatever you do, don’t come out fighting.”

And you can watch it. All you need is a brain the size of a pea and a bank card that will allow you to pay an easily identified British TV channel £19.95.

In the United States, where truth is a negotiable commodity, they are asking nearly $50.

Full opinion piece at the UK Guardian: Link

Anyone here watching it?  I will be if I can do so for free, just out of curiosity.

Yes I will be watching it for sure. Anything with Iron Mike Tyson is for sure unpredictable and could be fun to watch.
Watching it through my IPTV subscription which doesn't cost me anything extra :tu:

Here is an article I found about the fight :

Is this a professional match?

It's an 8-round exhibition fight, although the rules have reportedly been adjusted so it can end with a knockout.

The rounds will be 60 seconds shorter than usual -- two minutes, instead of three -- and the fight has been sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission.

The pair will use 12-ounce gloves without any protection.

Since it's an exhibition fight, there are no titles at stake, but the winner will receive a commemorative belt create for the fight.

I'll watch it when i get up tomorrow,my days of staying up till silly o'clock in the morning are over.

Unless fury and Joshua do it in america of course.

Just watched the dubois v joyce fight, can't see either of them being title winners imo.

It was a half-decent fight that was declared a draw.  Both were huffing and puffing but I reckon Tyson landed the most punches with Jones wanting to hold too much.  I doubt either would last long in a real contest with a champion in his prime.

The fight before the main event between two younger guys, a YouTuber and a NBA retiree, was farcical.

I wouldn't count them out... Wilder was a title-holder, after all.
