John Ratcliffe, the director of national intelligence, included the explosive claim in a long Wall Street Journal op-ed in which he made the case that China poses the pre-eminent national security threat to the U.S. "There are no ethical boundaries to Beijing's pursuit of power," wrote Ratcliffe, a Republican former member of Congress from Texas. All sorts of abominable things are done with that kind of justification and the ignorant who believe and fear will allow it. Well, there are stories from the viet nam vets that they were given drugs in some units that kept them awake and on their feet for days, so of course the U.S. has been and probably still is experimenting with this. And with human guinea pigs, obviously. I knew a guy who came up to Canada to get away from the US after his tours in Vietnam. He said they did give him drugs. He was definitely off.
