"good riddance" , in the English context is regarded as an insult , and only used if you dislike a person intensely

Unfortunately I wasn't aware of that, when I wrote it. It was a mistake. Won't happen again.

"Good riddance" can also be used light-heartedly, even humorously, depending on the context.

So, don't worry about it. English is crazy!

That is Communism for you.

What about the NHS?

Freemasons Masonic Braces - Royal Ark Mariner - RAM - Rainbow

In 1945 Communism took over parliamnet by stealth.  around that time NHS was created.  Any connection to communism??  The symbols confirm this.

Economy Minister Diane Dodds has written to Cabinet Office Secretary Michael Gove to call for urgent action to be taken on deliveries to NI.

Since Christmas some orders have been cancelled or delayed and some retailers have suspended deliveries.

The problem is related to uncertainty about post-Brexit transition rules.

BBC

Some EU specialist online retailers have said they will no longer deliver to the UK because of tax changes which came into force on 1 January.

Bicycle part firm Dutch Bike Bits said from now on, it would ship to every country in the world except the UK.

"We are forced by British policy to stop dealing with British customers," it said on its website.

Another firm, Belgium-based Beer On Web, said it was now shunning the UK "due to the new Brexit measures".

“There is no good Irish Sea border, nor opportunities.”

Mr Allister, who is a QC and an MLA for North Antrim, added: “Northern Ireland cut off from GB and abandoned in the EU’s single market, customs union and VAT regime is not an opportunity — other than for Irish unification – but a diminution of the Union that secures our constitutional and economic prosperity.”

Loyalist Jamie Bryson is calling on the DUP to make Stormont "ungovernable" until the Irish Sea border is removed.

The outcome is exactly how I predicted it 4 years ago.
There is no change for the rich, they continue to do their business as usual or even easier.
The losers are the common people on both sides of the channel. For students, exspats, tourists, guest workers... it will be much more difficult.
Alone the need of a passport is very uncool. When I was on a short trip to England in May 2019 the customs officer looked at my ID-card for less than 1 second and now I need a passport with stamps and all this? Never had one since the 1980s and it surely costs more than € 100,- to get one. It would be ok for the US, Australia, China..., but for the UK? Come on, that's crazy.

  • 2 weeks later...

Militarily the UK has not left the EU , nothing has changed .Trumpeting  the fact of a full breakaway is folly and that’s how the EU want it .

Well we are 2 weeks in and no economic collapse.

Not much of anything really except a minor GBP rally against USD
