Coup Attempt

Quote

"We have all seen the disturbing images of the storming of Congress. I was made angry and also sad by these images. And I'm pretty sure I feel like the vast majority of friends of the United States of America, like millions of people who admire American democratic tradition. A basic rule of democracy is after the election there are winners and losers, both have to play their role with decency and responsibility so that democracy itself remains the winner. I regret very much that President Trump did not admit defeat in November and again yesterday."

"It is also certain with the confirmation of the election victory of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris that the United States of America will open a new chapter of the democracy in less than two weeks, as it is supposed to happen," she added.

We ask that members stop wielding it as a weapon to create hostility and discord, all this left vs right "civil war" stuff needs to stop.

This whole "electoral fraud" business is awkward from a moderating perspective because no matter what we say or do, we will draw the ire of one side or the other of the political spectrum. Originally the plan was to relegate Trump's "stolen election" claims to the conspiracies board once Biden was inaugurated, which I imagine most people would agree is fair - after all we can't have every political topic forever more dominated by the same arguments about fraud etc.

Might I suggest moving that forward now that Biden has been officially confirmed as the next president?

Given the events of last night and now that it's purely a formality to wait until the 20th.

The President Trump supporter killed in the Capitol building Wednesday was an Air Force vet from California who tweeted a day earlier how “nothing will stop us” and “the storm is here.”

Ashli Babbitt, who had 14 years in the service and did four tours of duty, was married and lived near San Diego, her husband Aaron told KUSI-TV.

“I’m numb. I’m devastated. Nobody from DC notified my son and we found out on TV,” the husband’s mother, Robin Babbitt, told The Post, saying of her daughter-in-law, “She is a Trump supporter.”

I don't disagree, but the American people have the right to see this process take place. Hopefully, while I doubt it Americans will finally wake up. It is time to over ride the President and have the Vice President declare martial law, and bring the Military in to enforce it. The President of the United States has intentionally caused Seditious and Insurrectionist acts against Nation. He needs to placed under arrest and then prosecuted for what happpened today. There are enough military bases in and around D.C., rollout the Tanks and bring in the troops and end this BS once and fir all.

Take Care my friend

Dude, calm down.

The last thing to do with a tinder box is to chuck a match in. The USA needs peace as do we here.

Members can help by reminding others to take such claims to the conspiracies board and/or by reporting them to the moderators.

That said, passing references to Trump's claims, such as those that might crop up in news stories regarding procedures taken in response to yesterday's events, are still fine; we are not looking to block all mention of them, only to stop hosting comments/discussions promoting them as factual in this section of the boards.

Great news, thank you.

Whilst men are linked together, they easily and speedily communicate the alarm of any evil design. They are enabled to fathom it with common counsel, and to oppose it with united strength. Whereas, when they lie dispersed, without concert, order, or discipline, communication is uncertain, counsel difficult, and resistance impracticable. Where men are not acquainted with each other’s principles, nor experienced in each other’s talents, nor at all practised in their mutual habitudes and dispositions by joint efforts in business; no personal confidence, no friendship, no common interest, subsisting among them; it is evidently impossible that they can act a public part with uniformity, perseverance, or efficacy. In a connection, the most inconsiderable man, by adding to the weight of the whole, has his value, and his use; out of it, the greatest talents are wholly unserviceable to the public. No man, who is not inflamed by vain-glory into enthusiasm, can flatter himself that his single, unsupported, desultory, unsystematic endeavours, are of power to defeat the subtle designs and united cabals of ambitious citizens. When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.

–Edmund Burke, Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents 82-83 (1770) in: Select Works of Edmund Burke, vol. 1, p. 146 (Liberty Fund ed. 1999).

Over time, this quote has been whittled down to: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”  I’m pretty sure that Jefferson had this quote mulling around his head (among many others) when he wrote the Declaration of Independence.

We have witnessed a successful coup attempt.  It is not a conspiracy theory.  The evidence is abundant.  It has never been debunked, but it has been ignored and rejected out of hand because some men are unknowingly complicit.  The evidence has never been scrutinized.  Bidet will be a Pino (President in name only), and that is dangerous for the country.  As long as this remains unresolved (and ignoring it is not being resolved), it will be a stigma over his head now and long after his term is over (6 months or 4 years).  If this is not confronted now, what prevents the Left from cheating again in 2022?  2024?  From here on out, they have the perfect cover.  The test case successful.  The Socialists will have no need for elections ever again.  Is this how our Republic dies?  Each time it is tried, the unrest will increase.  It will never go away and the Left is playing with fire.

Attorney withdraws from election challenge lawsuit, saying Trump used him to 'perpetrate a crime' (msn.com)   So lots of people kept accusing dems of fraud , but now the more it begins to come out , it looks like trump is the real criminal.

The problem is normal folks already knew this. And have been saying it for 4 years. Sad that it has taken til the last 12 days of his term before his enablers start admitting this as well.

It does not appear so, since the one you just posted about Elon Musk is showing up. If you are having issues with posting, I suggest you ask for help in the Help Desk.

well we have now moved almost fully into the Twilight Zone... when faceless people controlling Big Tech outlets like Twitter can silence the voice of the democratically elected President of the US.... for purely political reasons and get away with it...

using Orwellian maneuvers like deleting his tweet last night where he spoke on video to the demonstrators and asked them to be peaceful and go home.. then Twitter said it was deleted because he was inciting violence ...or some such thing... and those who have been primed to hate cheer the Faceless Manipulators on....

anyone could be forgiven for thinking they (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram et al) were colluding with the MSM trying to create a false narrative and make Trump look bad,,,...

There is no proof. That's the problem. Everyone is telling you the truth but Trump. It's a conspiracy to believe that literally everyone is corrupt and lieing but Trump. That is insane. Supreme court judges, republican judges, conservative election officials, department of justice, CIA, FBI, volunteers. People appointed by Trump himself.

There was no coup.

No point in arguing with a cult member. Doing whatever the cult leader says regardless of how insane or illogical is what makes it a cult.

Only way to fix them is deprogramming. How we are going to deprogram a big chunk of the country is beyond me. How they got programmed in the first place is also beyond my grasp. One powerful idiot on twitter saying what they want to hear is apparently all it takes.

Doing away with the cesspool that is social media would be a good start IMO. I've always hated it and use it as little as possible. Genie is out of the bottle, though, it's not going anywhere.

First 9f all, stop with name calling and trying to put the other side down.  Not everything Trump di was wrong, he had a few good points, learn from them.  The Democrats have both good and bad.  Let you representatives know that you disagree and why.  Social media only seems to cause anger and frustration,  especially when used for inflammatory purposes.  Look to the good, quit focusing on the negative.   Learn from these mistakes, come out stronger

Honestly , they don't need to create a false narrative to make trump look bad. He's perfectly capable of doing that himself.
