Trump baby blimp joins Museum of London

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

The Donald Trump blimp, which depicted the US president as an angry baby wearing a nappy and clutching a mobile phone, has finally been "consigned to history".

The 20ft orange effigy first took to the skies over Westminster during protests against Mr Trump's visit in 2018, and has since flown in France, Ireland, Argentina and various locations across the US.

Now that the 45th president's term in office is coming to an end, it is "heading to its final resting place" at the Museum of London, to be conserved and possibly displayed for years to come.

Lol, personally, I want the flying pig Roger Waters of Pink Floyd used as a hangover from the 1977 album Animals, the song "Pigs", except they put Trumps head on the pig. Very fitting as the song is basically describing him and people like him

Wasn't it stabbed and brought down?

Nope, the balloon in the OP article is not the one that got stabbed. That was other balloons.

2019 London appearance

Ahead of Trump's state visit to the UK in June 2019, Sky News ran a commercial featuring the balloon.[22] The blimp was likely to be flown again during this visit, subject to permission from the Metropolitan Police.[23] A crowdfunding initiative arranged for the blimp to fly if £30,000 were raised before Trump's arrival on June 3, 2019; this funding goal was achieved.[24] The Museum of London again said that it would like to exhibit the balloon.[25] The blimp flew at 9.00 am June 4, 2019 in Parliament Square, ahead of the main protest that congregated at 11.00 am in Trafalgar Square. A smaller balloon was prepared to be carried in the march. The smaller balloon was "stabbed with a sharp object" by Amy Dalla Mura, a pro-Trump supporter later that day; the woman was arrested and charged.

Yes, the blimp in the OP wasn't the balloon that got stabbed, it was a different balloon that got stabbed.

Then you only saw the smaller balloon that was prepared to be carried in the march, and not the one that flew over Parliament Square that is now in the museum.
