New twisty skyscraper for New York?

Eldorado

When it comes to far-out skyscraper designs, this one takes some beating.

Eye-popping renderings have been unveiled for a 210m (688ft) sci-fi-style New York skyscraper that almost looks like it has been fashioned from Play-Doh, with twisting tube-like structures coiled inside a towering frame.

The organic design has been dreamt-up by Turkish architecture firm Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio, which described the structure as 'amorphous' and having a 'transparent, ghostly stance in the city skyline'.

Great pics at the UK Mail: Link

Architects are self-obsessed idiots.

One of them designed The Walkie Talkie in London.  When the sunshine was coming from the right direction, you could fry an egg out on the street!

Solar glare problem.

During the building's construction, it was discovered that for a period of up to two hours each day, if the sun shines directly onto the building, it acts as a concave mirror and focuses light onto the streets to the south.

Spot temperature readings at street-level including up to 91°C (196°F) and 117°C (243 °F) were observed during summer 2013, when the reflection of a beam of light up to six times brighter than direct sunlight shining onto the streets beneath damaged parked vehicles, including one on Eastcheap whose owner was paid £946 by the developers for repairs to melted bodywork.

Temperatures in direct line with the reflection became so intense that City A.M. reporter Jim Waterson managed to fry an egg in a pan set out on the ground. The reflection also burned or scorched the doormat of a shop in the affected area. The media responded by dubbing the building the "Walkie-Scorchie" and "Fryscraper".

The "Fryscraper"!

It's those that paid for the blue prints and the building...

Modern real estate moguls are using new tactics to wreck property values in certain districts to bolster their own portfolios on other corners.

Skyscrapers aren't built on drawings, it's built by 'money'

It's about time we started replacing those old, dull-looking buildings with some new, interesting designs.

You're right, you're in America, your property value most likely soared with a McD as a neighbor
