China to boost 'masculinity' with PE classes

A plan in China to get boys to do more sports as a way of making them more manly has reopened a debate between those who urge more diversity and those backing a more masculine society.

The education ministry has said it aims to increase the number of physical education teachers and revamp gym classes to boost the "masculinity" of students.

The plan was in response to a proposal last May by a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an advisory body to the government, calling for help for boys who have become too delicate, timid and effeminate after being schooled mostly by women teachers, the ministry said.

Physical Education should be a requirement for all able bodied students not just males.  And the purpose shouldn't be to boost masculinity it should be to promote health and fitness.  Right thing, wrong reason.

Something needs to be done in Japan, before the Japanese die out!

Their animé porn is more popular than real sex. It's such a weird society.

I disagree, promoting masculinity should be a thing.

But if you're using PE to do it then you may want to exclude females from the class which I don't support.  Masculinity to me is about being reliable, fair, on top of your life, prepared, helpful, honest.

they are not excluding anyone,  their boys need it more than they have it now.    masculinity to me  is a term liberals use to destroy  natural order of things where males and females have different roles in order to survive and procreate, as well as destroying traditional family unit . they very often use it with word toxic in front. which becomes a decretory term for traditional male

Sport is for everyone.
Male. Female. Bumblebee. It doesn’t matter what you identify as. It doesn’t matter how capable you are. Sport. Is. For. Everyone.
PE is about self-control. It is about challenging yourself to better yourself. It is about team work. About body awareness. About knowing your limits and not defining yourself by being confined by them because through hard work you can exceed those limits. About setting a goal and working to reach it. About being aware that you can and will fail, but not letting that failure stop you from trying again tomorrow.
Sure as hell we need to teach that.
Sure as hell don’t see anything inherently masculine about that.

And probably more considerate and caring for people and the environment. Sounds like a backward step for humanity, what they are preparing the young guys for is what worries me.
