Popular Post Saru Posted February 10, 2021 Popular Post #1 Share Posted February 10, 2021 It very much saddens me to report that our long-time friend and moderator John DeWerd - who we all knew on the forums as kmt_sesh - passed away suddenly on January 25th due to health complications following his stroke. John joined the forum back in 2007 and made over 23,000 posts here, most of which being in the Ancient Mysteries board as he had a keen interest in the ancient world and especially in ancient Egypt. In real-life he volunteered at the Chicago Field Museum and Oriental Institute and would spend his weekends sharing his passion and knowledge with others by giving lectures and tours. In addition to his participation in the Ancient Mysteries section, John was also a moderator here on the Unexplained Mysteries forums - as always I cannot put into words my appreciation for the time he volunteered to help keep things running smoothly. He will be very much missed by a great many of our members here. On behalf of us all - our warmest wishes and condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time. https://www.cooneyfuneralhome.com/obituary/John-DeWerd 1 9

Popular Post SHaYap Posted February 10, 2021 Popular Post #9 Share Posted February 10, 2021 RiP boss Quote CHAPTER 72 - Formula for coming forth into the day (Continued): He who knows this book on earth or that which is written on the sarcophagus, can come forth into the day in any way he desires. He then may return to his place without being rejected. He will prosper as he did on earth and how will do whatever he wishes, (like the gods of Ennead, who are in the Douat. This has been done on millions of occasions. ~

Windowpane Posted February 10, 2021 #12 Share Posted February 10, 2021 I was extremely sorry to read this: I had hoped he was making a good recovery after all his health setbacks of recent times. Despite these problems, he was kind enough to give a lot of encouragement to a project on which I and someone else were working on some while back. Very sad news indeed ... Condolences to his friends and family.

Thanos5150 Posted February 10, 2021 #14 Share Posted February 10, 2021 I have not been participating here long and did not have many interactions with kmt_sesh, but it was immediately apparent from those I did that this was a genuinely fair, objective, honest, and knowledgeable person. A rare treat. The Imperishable Ones await you.

Popular Post onlookerofmayhem Posted February 10, 2021 Popular Post #20 Share Posted February 10, 2021 I always admired his knowledge and wit. My interactions with him almost always left me with a deeper understanding of a subject. I can honestly say I've never been as affected by the death of an online acquaintance as much as this one. I'm truly saddened. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. Goodbye John RIP 14
