keithisco 5,165 #26 Posted February 10 What John (kmt_sesh) gave to this forum, his knowledge, wit and neverending patience should always be remembered as a gift to the rest of us. He was the best of us along with MID and Cadetak. All people taken too early. A peaceful repose as you pass to the next plain of existence John...

susieice 41,075 #28 Posted February 10 I'm shocked and so saddened to hear this. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. When I saw the Tut exhibit at the Franklin Institute John explained to me a lot of what I saw. When I went there to see the Cleopatra exhibit, I even wrote things down to ask him about when I got home and logged in. He helped me learn so much. We also shared a liking for the same authors and often discussed their books. John's knowledge, patience and humor will be sorely missed here in UM. He will never be forgotten. He was the best of us like MID keithsco. Fly with angels John. 15

Wepwawet 2,120 #32 Posted February 10 John had become ill before I joined this forum, so did not know him here, though I did know him on ED in years gone by. I was struck by his knowledge, and perhaps more so by his enthusiasm for Ancient Egypt. A modified excerpt from spell 85 of the Book of the Dead, which perhaps maybe fitting for a man who moderated on two forums Quote I am the soul of Ra who issued from Nun, that soul of the god who created authority. Wrongdoing is my detestation, and I will not see it. I think about righteousness and I live by it. I am authority which will never perish in this my name of Ba. I came into being of myself with Nun in this my name of Khepri, and I come into being in it daily. I am the Lord of Light, death is my detestation, and I will not enter into the place of annihilation of the Duat. It is I who cause Osiris to be an akh, and have made content those who are in his retinue. I desire that they grant fear of me and create respect of me among those who are in their midst, for I am lifted aloft on my standard, on my throne, and on my alloted seat. I am the soul of the eternal gods, my body is everlasting. I am he who is on high, Lord of Tatjebu. I am young in my city, I am boyish in the field, and such is my name, for my name will not perish. 6

DingoLingo 3,567 #49 Posted February 12 Ouch.. Like Joc I was thinking about him the other day wondering how he is going with his recovery.. I am at a loss what to say.. he was funny.. clever and had a sharp wit.. I would even class him as a Peer on the forum in regards to the ancient mysteries.. "Hail to you, great god, Lord of Justice! I have come to you, my lord, that you may bring me so that I may see your beauty for I know you and I know your name and I know the names of the forty-two gods of those who are with you in this Hall of Justice, who live on those who cherish evil and who gulp down their blood on that day of the reckoning of characters in the presence of Wennefer [another name for Osiris]. Behold the double son of the Songstresses; Lord of Truth is your name. Behold, I have come to you, I have brought you truth, I have repelled falsehood for you. I have not done falsehood against men, I have not impoverished my associates, I have done no wrong in the Place of Truth, I have not learnt that which is not.." Rest well my old friend.. Till the time where we will meet once more.. I shall forever be in debt for the laughter you have given me over the years..
