At what point are we just censoring and punishing people for not thinking the correct way?

It's the most recent example but this is happening all the time now. It can't be healthy.

She should have known better.  Comparing republicans to Jews?  Everyone knows Jews are all Democrats

I don't think it was hate speech, it was just whiny and tasteless. And it was logical that the owner of that company won't find it acceptable. It's a case of serve her right, in my opinion. And it's a case of who cancels whom first, it seems. 

What I do agree with you is that it can't be healthy. Everyone's so touchy lately it will soon be impossible to say anything to anyone and then you'll probably go back to normal, adult way of expressing yourselves.

The right believes in freedom of speech more than the left these days.  That's why the only people that attempt to cancel people from the right are mainly super religious.

It's a private company. You can't cancel owner's right to decide what he'll tolerate or not. I wouldn't tolerate that Holocaust comparison either. In fact, each time someone today moans about being persecuted, I tell them to be careful what they wish for, because it may come true and the real persecution doesn't leave you the option of complaining loudly across all media that there are. 

Right wing would like to cancel everything they don't find fitting into their narrative and if they're failing at it, it's only because they're less good at this game. To be honest, conservatives are stereotyped as less bright than progressives, which is only logical, since striving to keep things the same at all cost is the ultimate sign of not being to bright.

The show is still broadcast. I'm saying that the creators said they do not believe they would be able to make the show if they were making it in 2020. It would not have aired or would of had to of been alot different.

Since the show is already done and established it's not a problem to broadcast it.

How about blue lives matter?  I like the  way @Helen of Annoy thinks she's safe from cancel culture but is a willing participant if she agrees with the thing someone is being cancelled for.

Exactly. That's the danger. It's very anti-free speech and very thought police. 

But the sad thing is alot of people do not believe in free speech anymore. They just want those they don't agree with censored. 

People no longer believe the marketplace of ideas is beneifical they just see dissident thought as a threat.

Kids here watch it, grown-ups watch it, it's quite popular overhere. You mention some scene of Family Guy or South Park, and 2 or 3 are able to finish your story, and we all have a good laugh. And that includes colored people, gay people, and so on.

Maybe not in Amsterdam, but who cares.

If some PC pricks wanted it to be forbidden, it would already have happened. And believe me, we do have our share of PC pricks.

Yes, I support censoring there where it is necessary. Or, in case of private companies and lives, almost unlimited censoring, according to preferences of the owner.

Anyone should be fired for saying or writing anything that is against the company policy. I mean, you'd force people to keep a blabbermouth employed? What are you, a socialist? They are supposed to be against firings no matter what. 

 

Also, if you're not stupid, you can say a lot in an appropriate manner. Those who are stupid should be taught to keep their mouth shut - like it used to be in those happy old times conservatives are so nostalgic about - and problem solved.

No one gets to say just anything and cries their way out of consequences. On the other hand, everyone gets to express themselves, but yeah, there are limits and everything we ever say may come back not to haunt us, but to demand an explanation.
