Raptor Witness Posted February 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2021 (edited) U.S. insurers brace for hefty claims from Texas storm once thaw sets in - Reuters - FEB 18, 2021 Insurers' losses could stretch into billions of dollars, said Moody's analyst Jasper Cooper. "You wouldn't have a hurricane hit all of Texas," Cooper said. Texas insurers expect "hundreds of thousands of claims" said Camille Garcia, Insurance Council of Texas spokeswoman. ____________ I could make a prediction, based upon this statistical analysis, but I don’t know if our intelligent services can handle the cold hard truth. If Mother is going in for the kill, as I now suspect, will she start with record wildfires in California, a sweeping solar virus ...... and end with a paralyzing 100 year freeze thrown into the face of Texas? preacherman76 Posted February 19, 2021 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I doubt the cold in Texas will last more than another week. Certainly not a hundred years.
rashore Posted February 19, 2021 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2021 Kinda figured there would be a lot of claims after something like this. There’s a lot of damage being reported. With some of the shortages and materials prices rising because of last year, reconstruction from this might take a bit longer and cost more than has been previous norm. The prediction is an absurd tack on of nonsense, like they all tend to be, and fairly pointless to the topic, as usual.

I’m just looking at the pace of these giant disasters striking blow after blow upon the United States. The polar vortex could have easily swung to the east side of the Appalachian Mountains, but it chose to literally “Mess with Texas,” which it turns out, was the soft underbelly. They deliberately failed to winterize their electric grid. The latest figures I’ve heard are that Texas is losing 3 billion a day in GDP, due mostly to their own bad choices. Insurance rates in Texas should have been higher to account for the stupid factor, but I’ll bet even the actuaries were caught off guard by the mammoth human error which has compounded the peril. I’m trying to think of another weather event which has created “hundreds of thousands of insurance claims,” ever. You didn’t see my polar vortex forecast? Key words, “special visit.” Texas, the most vulnerable grid, had five weeks to prep. their natural gas generation and coal fire plants. The lack of human intelligence is the problem. That’s the point. Quote Raptor Witness 2,455 #1 Posted January 8 Could the departure of Donald Trump, a.k.a. "Heat Miser" curiously coincide with a special visit by the Polar Vortex? The long range forecast says .... "maybe so." Myles Posted February 19, 2021 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2021 My brother lives Near Nashville. He's been afraid of his pipes bursting. They don't bury them as deep as they do in the North. He's purchase some heat trace for some of them.
