Eldorado Posted February 20, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2021 Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Saturday he was "sickened" by allegations of sexual assault in Parliament House, adding that there was a "culture" problem at the government building. His comments followed reports that a second woman had said she had been assaulted by the same man whom a former media adviser to the government this week publicly accused of rape. Brittany Higgins said on Friday, in a statement reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC), that the man had raped her two years ago in parliament. Reuters has been unable to contact her. Morrison apologised to Higgins on Tuesday for the way her complaint was handled at that time, ordering a probe into the government's workplace culture. And our brave, forward thinking, Christian, man of the people Prime Minister .... said he’d meet the leader of the rally for ten minutes in private. She told him to bog off. The deputy leader told them to bog off in no uncertain terms “I’m busy, all day.” If anyone thinks the culture of Canberra is going to change any time soon, they need to think again. Remember, the response to a rape allegation is to get the place where the rape is alleged to have occupied steam cleaned (so there’s no evidence to be collected if/when the AFP turns up I presume). That when a news organisation discusses in rhe most vague of terms rape allegations (naming no names, until you yourself out you as the subject of the allegations) you sue the news organisation for defamation for saying “itks been long known in the Canberra bubble thst there have been allegations made against Christian Porter”. Sir Wearer of Hats Posted March 25, 2021 #11 Share Posted March 25, 2021 Anyone see the presser where Scotty was all teary-eyed about how he wanted to do better because blah blah I have children? Really emotive stuff.... followed by a Edward Hyde turn in a second when he goes after one of the members of the press in order to deflect the line of questioning. He goes from remorseful to nasty in a split second. I make no secret of disliking the man, but when your response to a long string of serious allegations about sexual assault and misconduct is to go “I have two daughters, I understand and champion women’s rights”followed by “it’s just as bad in other workplaces” ... then you really show your true colours.

Eldorado Posted April 8, 2021 Author #24 Share Posted April 8, 2021 Australia will scrap exemptions for judges and politicians from sexual harassment laws, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Thursday, as his government struggles to contain a backlash over allegations of mistreatment of female lawmakers and staff. Under broad changes aimed at empowering complainants in workplace gender-related disputes, employers will be required to take a proactive approach to stopping gender discrimination, while complainants get a longer period of time to lodge complaints, Morrison said.
