rashore Posted February 21, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2021 Full article title: Edinburgh Napier researchers shed light on the tragedy of condemned Scottish 'witches' who were healers and midwives Quote The study by researchers at Edinburgh Napier University aims to shed a light on 150 condemned ‘witches’ recorded on the Survey of Scottish Witchcraft as being folk healers and midwives. The team, from the Nursing and Midwifery Subject Groups in the School of Health and Social Care, will investigate the stories of these individual nurses and midwives, documenting who they were, and reflecting on their practices from today’s healthcare perspective. The history of nursing research project is being funded by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Foundation as part of its programme of work to celebrate the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife. https://www.scotsman.com/news/people/edinburgh-napier-researchers-shed-light-tragedy-condemned-scottish-witches-who-were-healers-and-midwives-3139560?fbclid=IwAR2Q3b9neB_lcMPrmJRe0iAeMxJ3tPuq4ZxB-zGAAdACpdHJ5khPfXwb9RE
