Eldorado Posted February 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2021 OK, so it's not clear whether or not these remains are those of an actual person, but you can see quite clearly, it's a pile of bones. Obviously, the Chernobyl disaster killed a lot of people, and there are heaps of stories about what happened in the immediate and longer term aftermath of the nuclear disaster. However, it's not known whether there are still human remains knocking about just in the open like these. That said, we do have one account of such a discovery. +and-then Posted February 23, 2021 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2021 It's difficult to get a sense of scale but while they certainly appear to be bones, they seem far too thick and short to be the bones of a human. Weird...
Helen of Annoy Posted February 23, 2021 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2021 Pig bones, at the first glance. The round thing is not a skull, it's a helmet of sorts. There could be remains in the woods and abandoned buildings, of people who didn't want to evacuate or came back or squatted there, and died without anyone to look for them, but there are no human bodies scattered around the site that is regularly combed by authorities, tourists and their guides. Someone piled up the helmet, gasmask and the leftovers from pork dinners and will be very amused now when their art installation is finally in the spotlight
Buzz_Light_Year Posted February 23, 2021 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2021 Looks like a gas mask in the top picture right in the middle of the pile.
HandsomeGorilla Posted February 23, 2021 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2021 To your southeast, looks to be the jaw bone of either a pig, cow, or other similarly sized animal. They don't look like any human bones I've seen
