Israel approves Covid vaccine passport

Israel has recently announced that they will be bringing in Covid-19 vaccination passes for citizens to prove they've had the jab.

The new measure means people wanting to enter certain places will need to provide evidence that they have been protected against the coronavirus.

This includes places such as hotels, gyms, theatres, shopping malls and as Israel churn through the world's fastest vaccination program people are able to access the green passports of badges through an app.

It's been reported that some places are even using facial recognition technology to confirm the identity of people.

Some people might take issue with vaccine passports, but people have been doing the same thing in history for a long time when it comes to vaccine cards.

It was also done during the time of Polio https://www.historyofvaccines.org/index.php/content/polio-pioneer-card-front

Its another form of identification in a sense yes, but we have used similar things in the past when it came to vaccines.

That's always the way it begins.  They sell you security or convenience and once you've taken that step, they segue to using it for other purposes.  For travel outside the U.S. I have no complaint at all.  If it becomes necessary for intrastate travel, I'll be angry.  If it becomes necessary for doing daily business in public like shopping or visiting public buildings I'm REQUIRED to visit, I suspect my government will be cross with me.

Regardless of my views on Isreal's politics, I applaud the Israely government for their swift actions regarding this epidemic as well a huge THANK YOU to the citizens of Israel who were, in the most part, following the guidelines and kept eachother safe.

US gives $15m to Palestinians to fight against COVID-19

US move comes as a ‘renewed commitment to Palestinian people’ after former President Trump’s one-sided support to Israel.

Excellent. Islamic Jihad and HAMAS will be delighted with this financial shot in the arm !
