ADULTS being treated as children or behaving like children? The reason why we haven't seen the deaths of  the pandemic of 1918/19, (when over 50 million people died worldwide and global mortality rate is estimated to have been between 10% to 20% of those who were infected) is because we have better social conditions, better medical knowledge, and greater wealth- we have been able to insist on lockdowns because we have been able to support people in lockdown (okay, far from perfectly but that is another argument). Covid deniers, anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers irritate me immensely. It's not that big a deal to forego partying until things are under control. You don't even need to do any real research to compare the reduced death rates from diseases which were life-changing or fatal because of advances in treatment.

What happened in that park in the Netherlands was Rebellious Dutch youth, longing to be in a crowd again, partying together like they were used to before the virus hit. It's not an isolated incident. This is happening all over the world. In this case, Dutch youth like to be outside, hanging out in groups, especially after a long cold winter. The weather is getting springlike in the Netherlands and they are tired of being "locked up" and tired of the governments restrictions. Now this gathering of partying youth was definitely not the smartest thing to do and I myself condemn it but it does sends a message to the government basically saying that lots of people are at the end of their rope and now that confirmed virus infections are slowly declining in the Netherlands the people are demanding the government to also slowly let go of restrictions like curfews and terraces, bars & cafes still forbidden to be open.

While posting on a public forum. it's not a good look to make derogatory personal comments and completely avoid debating the actual issue.  The reason you would do that has to be either:

- you're a few sausages short of a bbq, or

- you think no-one notices the avoidance, and you have no answers / know you're wrong

 

Is there another possibility?  Because either of them (or a combination..) is unlikely to increase your credibility.  And let's face it, you need that...

Freedom for what exactly? You are being temporarely limited in your "freedom" due to a pandemic. And how many time has covid spreed among several communities because of "freedom fighters"?

Anyone can call themselves an American, or Britiish...ANYONE!!!  Why?     I can't call myself chinese, or african, or muslim as an English man.   Everyone in the world can say they're now American if they take the citizen test making them a citizen in America.    Same with Britain.  You can be British as soon as you enter and land on the soil.    But no one can tell my why, I find that really strange.

How do I go about 'making sure' that I get infected?  By going to the very busy grocery store or big box hardware stores without wearing a mask?  By not using antiseptic?

Now, you just go right ahead my friend and attempt to shame me for having the testosterone level to actually embrace Freedom.  Freedom isn't a bubble my friend.  Freedom is being free...you either are or you are not.  And I simply refuse to allow people like you to dictate to me what I can and cannot do because of virus that doesn't do what you all said it was going to do.

I think by using the term "testosterone" you are suggesting you have the "courage" others lack. Other people might be more concerned about common sense. The Germanwings pilot with depression who flew the airliner into the Alps- he was 'free' from Big Brother snooping into his medical records, and the passengers who died with him were also 'free' to make the decision to fly with him that day....but not everyone wants to die on the hill of ignorance.

The vast majority of adults thinking like adults, know these restrictions will end but only if the Man/Woman Babies also toe the line.
