Eldorado Posted March 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2021 (edited) US press secretary Jen Psaki has confirmed that five people have lost their jobs at the White House after admitting to past cannabis use. So far, 14 states and the District of Columbia have legalised marijuana for adult recreational use, and 36 states permit medical use of the drug. It is still illegal at a federal level however, which acts as a barrier to obtaining a security clearance if past use is admitted. While hiring staffers earlier this year, the Biden administration asked employees to disclose past cannabis use as part of a lengthy background check, but told some of them that they would “overlook” their answer. Trelane Posted March 19, 2021 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2021 I wonder why past use is an issue? There has to be more to it that just past use. I cant even imagine how many Americans have tried at least once.
preacherman76 Posted March 19, 2021 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2021 Shouldn’t the VP get the axe? She admitted it on live radio.
