Man returns from 10 minutes shopping trip to find 15,000 bees in his car

Still Waters

A man who went shopping in New Mexico returned to a car filled with 15,000 honey bees who had apparently got in through an open window while he spent 10 minutes buying groceries.

Astonishingly, the man – who was not named in the New York Times report detailing his unexpected travel companions – did not notice the sudden presence of a giant swarm of buzzing insects on his vehicle’s back seat until he was driving away.

“Then he turned back and looked and like was ‘holy cow’,” Jesse Johnson, an off-duty firefighter and paramedic whose hobby is beekeeping, said of the man’s reaction in an interview with the paper. “He called 911 because he didn’t know what to do.”

I'm not surprised he didn't notice the bees at first. His car looks a little rustic to say the least!

Why are people making fun of the person's car?

We can't all afford a new one every year, and cars last longer in the southwest due to lack of humidity and harsh winters.

Hey, If the car was silly enough to let all those bees in, it deserves to be made fun of!

:D

The only thing I noticed was that he needs to park it under a less poopy tree. :unsure2:

This is like a guy I work with who tried to tell me he was the village he lived in's keepy up champ.  he tried seriously to tell me it was well over 2,000.  That's how I kew he was full of crap. Who stood there and counted that?  "101, 102, 103, 10...............You know what? You win. Here's your medal, we're off for a pint".  I always see that scene in my head of him still going, alone in the pitch black with the wolf howl in the background.

With a car like that one--the bees should keep it!   And yes, 15,000 bees?  How did they count them?
